Simware Introduces First Connectivity Software With "LAN and Beyond"
Capability For Remote And Mobile Workers

SUMMARY: Simware Inc.'s "A2B" connects remote and mobile
PC users to LANs, mainframes, TCP/IP backbones
and the Internet with one connection; provides
Visual Basic support for custom applications

Simware Inc. has released version 3.0 of its A2B connectivity software with
new support for "LAN and Beyond" remote access to-and-through NetWare
LANs. For the first time, remote and mobile workers can now access any
network resource on their company's LAN, and go through the LAN to reach
information stored on mainframes, minicomputers, the Internet and other
TCP/IP hosts from their Windows PCs using a single connectivity program
and one call. A2B automates the entire connection and communications
process.

A2B 3.0 eliminates the cost and confusion MIS and users confront when
patching together multiple connectivity products. Without A2B 3.0, getting
from a remote laptop computer to a corporate application and the various
data the user needs might require two or three separate connectivity
products, each with its own interface. This "some assembly required"
scenario invariably consumes more disk and memory, requires a
significantly larger initial software investment and offers none of the
automation features contained in A2B.

The new version of A2B also includes support for Visual Basic, providing
the industry's first remote node connectivity support for the
market-leading application development software tool. With A2B and Visual
Basic, companies can now develop true client/server applications that use
remote access connections, preserving their investment in legacy systems
while providing mobile workers easy access to the information they need.

To reduce the complexity of remote networking, A2B automates the entire
dial-up, connection, navigation and log-on process for remote users with
customized NetWare Login scripts. Unlike other solutions that just get a
user connected to the LAN, with A2B, a simple double-click on an
application icon in the Windows desktop establishes a connection to a LAN,
log-on to the file server and automatically launch a user's network
applications to provide one-button-access to LAN services, programs and
data.

A2B 3.0 provides access to most mainframe, minicomputer and UNIX systems.
It supports multiple sessions to multiple hosts, concurrently, using
TCP/IP and Novell's IPX protocol over dial-up, SLIP/PPP [Serial Line
Internet Protocol/Point-to-Point Protocol], X.25 packet switch, cellular,
radio frequency and direct connect networks. A2B includes a TCP/IP
protocol stack at no extra charge.
