Addison-Wesley's Quest 2000 Math Program Adopted by State of California

Sanctuary Woods' Quest 2000-correlated Math Software Adventures in Flight
Benefits from Adoption

SAN MATEO, Calif, November 15, 1994--Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., a
leading mathematics and science publisher, announced that the State of
California has officially adopted its Quest 2000 mathematics program for
grades K-6. Sanctuary Woods Multimedia Inc. (NASDAQ: SWMCF; VSE: SWD)
simultaneously announced that under the adoption, the CDROM math software
it developed with Addison-Wesley as the technology component for Quest
2000--Addison-Wesley Real World Math: Adventures in Flight--will appear on
a list of Quest 2000 products approved for purchase by California
schools.

"The Quest 2000 adoption means that hundreds of teachers will be able to
purchase the Adventures in Flight math software from statewide textbook
funds, rather than from smaller, auxiliary budgets as is the case with
most software," said Renee Courington, vice president of Sanctuary Woods'
Kids' Division. "Moreover, this year's presence of a technology component
reflects the trend that software is becoming a mainstream item integral to
the textbook and the teaching process."

Quest 2000 inspires students to explore mathematical concepts through
hands-on activities while acquiring computational skills that will give
them the mathematics tools to solve problems inside their classrooms and
in the world beyond. The Adventures in Flight math software, which is the
first of three titles to be co-developed by the two companies for the
Addison Wesley Real World Math series, also emphasizes problem solving
within areal life context.

In the CD-ROM, kids take a trip to the airport where they explore and apply
math in true-life situations. Children see demonstrations of essential
concepts such as operations, measurement, geometry and graphing, and how
airport workers (e.g. pilot, air traffic controller) use them in their
day-to-day lives. Through their experiences, kids build an understanding
of the interrelationships between mathematical concepts and identify
relevant purposes of math in everyday life.
