NCD OFFERS INFORMATION ON 1,000 X-WINDOW APPLICATION PROGRAMS OVER THE
INTERNET

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 21, 1994 -- Users of the Internet public data
network can now review nearly 1,000 X Window System application programs
through the EXPORT Third Party Catalog from Network Computing Devices,
Inc.

Covering a range of applications from accounting and artificial
intelligence to software engineering and user interfaces, the NCD EXPORT
Catalog is the industry's most comprehensive listing of X programs. It can
be accessed through a World Wide Web (WWW) browser under the Uniform
Resource Locator (URL) address: "http://www.ncd.com".

"Information about applications from more than 400 companies is available,
including major software vendors such as AT&T, BBN, Computer Associates,
Frame, IBM, Oracle, and WordPerfect Corporation," said Bill Prescott,
manager, market development. "Availability of the catalog on the Web
provides a quick, efficient and low-cost vehicle for users to access
information and for vendors to provide it. This is another step in NCD's
commitment to offer more and more information, services and transactions
electronically."

Independent vendors of X Window products can join the EXPORT program via
e-mail (xport@ncd.com), by completing a form on the WWW, or by phoning NCD
at 415-691-2700. NCD continually expands and updates the catalog and is
developing hyperlink connections to listed vendors for more detailed
descriptions and ordering.

The X Window System, or X, is an industry-wide portable software standard
maintained under the auspices of the X Consortium. X has been adopted as
the standard window system by a majority of minicomputer, mainframe and
workstation vendors. It supports a device-independent architecture which
allows client programs to display text and graphics windows over the
network on any display hardware that supports the X protocol. Client
programs and display servers can communicate transparently over a
network.

Network Computing Devices, Inc., formed in February 1988, provides
information-access solutions for client-server computing environments. NCD
is the leading worldwide supplier of X Window System terminals, with a
broad family of color and monochrome units, and PC-X server software
products which integrate Microsoft Windows- and DOS-based PCs into X/UNIX
networks. The company's Z-Code division supplies the Z-Mail family of
cross-platform electronic-mail and messaging software for open-systems
environments.

NCD is publicly traded over the counter on the NASDAQ National Market
System under the symbol NCDI.
