Nov. 5, 1994 - I am pleased to announce the release of the lastest version
(v2.61) of my Music DataBase software, MDB, for MSDOS
(Windows-compatible). Since its initial release in 1991, registered users
of MDB have played a major role in its evolution by providing ideas for
new features and improvements. I have encorporated the best of these to
date into this latest version, while attempting to maintain the most
compelling feature of the program - ease of use.

Music db is designed to provide the user with a simple, yet comprehensive
cataloging tool for keeping track of their music collection, no matter how
big or small that collection may be. The program is menu-driven, and
features context-sensitive help screens, multiple database support, song
search, multiple report formats, ascii-delimited output, and much more.
The actual documentation for the program is included in the form of an
online menu-driven executable program - totally paperless! This also
permits distribution of the program and all updates via post, or
electronically, over the Internet.

For each album cataloged, the program records song titles and times, a
musical classification, recording media, title, artist, a user-defined
reference number, and a large text comment field. The media and
classification fields offer numerous options via a pull-down menu. For
each of these menus, I offer the user the opportunity to provide me a list
of selections to include, and I will code them directly into the program.
As well, the program screens are customized to display the users name and
user id number. In other words, each copy of the program is customized
and recompiled for each individual user to best suit their musical tastes
and needs - no two copies are the same! As well, future updates and fixes
are free to registered users.

Also included with registered copies of the program is a SECOND program,
TAPE 2.0, which utilizes the databases created by MDB to compile tape
layouts for home recording. You pick the songs to include, arrange them
on each side of the tape as you see fit, and let the program do the time
calculations. This eliminates the need for guessing, ending a tape midway
through a song, or ending up with eight minutes of blank tape at the end
of each side!

The registration fee for the all the above is $25. For more information,
or to order a copy of the program, please contact me in any of the
following ways:
