New DSP Board Uses Dual Access Memory

November 1, 1994 -- Wintriss Engineering Corporation has introduced the
Maestro 2100S DSP Development Board for audio, video, and general signal
processing applications. The Maestro 2100S is the latest product in the
Wintriss Engineering line of C30 boards. Based on the industry standard TI
TMS320C30 floating point digital processor, this new board plugs into an
IBM-compatible PC/AT ISA 16 bit bus, provides for data transfer rates up
to 4.2 MB/sec, and is available in both 33 MHz and 40 MHz clock rates. The
Maestro offers up to 8 MB of zero wait state static RAM, and has the added
feature of sharing 2 MB of this RAM with the PC/AT in a Dual Access Memory
(DAM) scheme. I his DAM can be used for data transfer with the PC or run
C30 code. The Maestro 2100S is compatible with all Texas Instruments' C30
DSP Tools. and Tartan Inc.'s Windows-based C/C++ Development System.
Wintriss Engineering offers a prototyping daughter board, including a
fully labeled wire-wrap area, that mounts to the Maestro via two 96 pin
DIN connectors. Custom platform boards, built to user specifications, are
also available on a quick turnaround basis. Maestro 2100S prices start at
$1,950 for 1 MB onboard memory, in small quantities.
