Version 2.6 of DANCAD3D, DANCAD87, DANCAM and DANPLOT offer these
improvements over v2.5:

For DANCAD3D and DANCAD87:

Virtual memory, make drawings up to 32MB with only 512KB RAM. Up to 999
separate drawing elements in the workspace at one time. Digitizer tablet
support for absolute distance drawing & tracing. Jockey menu of new
drawing commands added to drawing editor. String variables (words, text,
filenames) added to macro language. Preserve workspace option on quit to
DOS, fast way to go out to DOS. Much of the underlying program code has
been modified or improved. Files load and save Industry menus added to
import and export drawings. Directly reads HP-GL type plot files from
other CAD programs. Directly writes HP-GL, DXF, PostScript, and G&M code
(CNC) files.

For DANCAM and DANPLOT:

Joy-Stick support, to control motion, added to jog and teach menus. Teach
mode to make ASCII tool path files, with curve fitting option. Large
digital position display read out (DRO) in jog and teach modes. Scratch
pad, relative, and absolute position read out on large DRO. Angle and 2D
or 3D total distance measurements in jog and teach modes. Software digital
noise filter on home switch inputs for more accuracy. Ramping supported in
home up to home switches, for smooth operation. Improved timing of feed
rate control with microsecond delay values. Improved motor testing
utilities to ensure quality motor performance. DANPLOT v2.6 will directly
read HP-GL type files from disk or port. Rotation of C axis in DANPLOT
v2.6 can now be reversed by program. Printed circuit pattern macro for
Bi-Polar stepper motor board on disk.

Now that DANCAD3D has "unlimited" line segments, the BLOCK test, BETWEENS,
and other commands that use large numbers of line segments are more
useful. The digitizer tablet input lets you trace outlines of parts for
tool paths, or convert old paper drawings into CAD files. String variables
in the macro language let vou make macro menus that have the user input
text that can be passed to the LETTERING command, so that lettering can be
changed in a drawing or engraving tool path without editing the macro
code. The "TEACH" mode in DANCAN and DANPLOT v2.6 lets you guide the tool
around the path to make the first part manually, then have the movements
recorded reproduced from the file created. The ASCII file made with the
teach mode in DANCAM and DANPLOT can be loaded into DANCAD3D for editing.
The teach mode lets you trace curves by marking a few points, and setting
the cord length smoothness. The ShareWare documentation has been revised,
and now includes complete plans for building a stepper motor
translator/driver board that works well with the CAM programs.
