ACHIEVEMENTS IN INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT

Company Nominated in Two Interactive Award Categories

IRVINE, Calif., October 27, 1994 -- Graphix Zone (NASDAQ; GZON), an
industry-recognized expert on multimedia and producer of interactive
CD-ROM titles, today announced that its revolutionary (Prince) Interactive
music CD-ROM was twice nominated by the Academy of Interactive Arts &
Sciences (AIAS). Receiving nods for Best Musical and Best Composition and
Arrangement, (Prince) Interactive will compete for top honors at AIAS'
first annual Cybermania '94 multimedia awards show.

Broadcast live to an expected audience of 60 million viewers by cable
network Turner Broadcast Systems (TBS) on November 5, Cybermania '94 will
honor games and other interactive products in 30 different categories.
According to Andrew Zucker, president of AIAS and producer of Cybermania
'94, the purpose of the event is to recognize and reward excellence in the
emerging world of interactive entertainment.

Zucker added, "(Prince) Interactive is the perfect example of a unique
interactive experience which is why Graphix Zone is being honored as a
pioneer."

Angela Aber, Executive Vice President of Graphix Zone, stated that the
award recognizes the innovation and effort the company's development team
put in to make the CD-ROM a reality. "With (Prince) Interactive, we
strived to master unexplored techniques of CD-ROM publishing to create a
new genre of multimedia entertainment. We are pleased to be acknowledged
for our unique use of music, videos, animation and CD-ROM technology."

Products were selected for nomination in each category from a pool of
entries over a week of intense screening by AIAS members conducted at the
Los Angeles Virgin Megastore. Final voting on product categories will be
open to voting members of the AIAS as well as to subscribers on the
Prodigy online services network.

The awards ceremony, which will take place at Universal Studios, will be
hosted by actors Leslie Nielsen, of Naked Gun fame, and Jonathan Taylor
Thomas, of Home Improvement. In addition to its premiere live broadcast on
Nov. 5, TBS will rebroadcast the evenings festivities on November 12. For
