Digital Equipment Corporation Expands Storage Platform And Environment
Support

StorageWorks Solutions Now Available For Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Windows
NT

MAYNARD, Mass. -- November 1, 1994 -- Digital Equipment Corporation today
announced expanded storage support for multivendor UNIX and PC Network
environments. Digital's StorageWorks line of disk, tape and optical
storage products is now available for Hewlett-Packard and IBM UNIX-based
systems, and for Intel based PCs and servers running the Microsoft Windows
NT 32-bit operating system. The expansion demonstrates a long-term
commitment to provide a complete line of StorageWorks products for
heterogeneous computing environments.

According to Paul Feresten, vice president of sales and marketing for
Digital's Storage Business Unit, "New StorageWorks support for HP, IBM and
Windows NT is the latest indication of our intent to deliver on the
StorageWorks vision: to provide enterprise-wide storage solutions in
multivendor environments with a line of high-performance, flexible,
scalable, modular products. No other company supports more open platforms,
with a line of desktop to datacenter storage products, than Digital. With
today's increasingly complex, multiple vendor information systems
installations, this cross-platform capability is mandatory."

Paul Goldman, president of ARQANA Technologies, Inc., a StorageWorks
reseller, stated, "StorageWorks products are already unique in providing a
true multiplatform storage architecture. Our customers realize the
importance of this standard backbone as they move storage to increasingly
complex computer systems. For users seeking to maximize their investment
protection, new StorageWorks support for HP, IBM, and Windows NT is
wonderful news."

Kirby Wadsworth, manager of StorageWorks product marketing, added, "It is a
testament to the inherent StorageWorks compatibility with open systems
that many customers already use our products in HP, IBM, and NT
environments. We now offer fully qualified solutions backed by the
superior service, support, and warranty the industry has come to expect
from StorageWorks products."
