IBM ENHANCES CONSUMER TRANSACTION/2

PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 29 . . . IBM today announced enhanced versions of IBM
Consumer Transaction/2 and IBM Consumer Transaction/DOS that will simplify
the development of branch automation applications for banks and other
financial institutions.

The announcement took place at the Bank Administration Institute Retail
Delivery Systems Conference, now under way in Phoenix.

The new versions provide library control features that enable teams of
developers to work more efficiently on a single application, making sure
the work of one programmer does not override the work of another. The new
versions also enable developers to program modules of their applications
in any order they wish, and signal required relationships to other modules
of code. They also give developers the ability to run both run-time and
development facilities simultaneously, enabling them to code and test
their new applications at the same time.

IBM Consumer Transaction Definition/2 gives developers a simple,
easy-to-use development tool that is intuitive and still rich in function.
The same tool enables banks to develop applications for either OS/2 or DOS
environments.

More than 200 banks in over 18 countries use IBM CT software in OS/2, AIX
or DOS versions.

The new versions, IBM Consumer Transaction Definition/2 Version 2.1, IBM
Consumer Transaction Runtime/2 Version 2.1, and IBM Consumer
Transaction/DOS Version 1.4, will be available worldwide on March 31,
1995.
