J&L Information Systems Announces a DX4-100 upgrade for their ChatterBox
Family

Continuing the Product Enhancement Path for their Remote Communications
Customers

Chatsworth, October 17th, 1994 -- J&L Information Systems a division of
Astro Sciences Corporation, a leading manufacturer of PC based network
resource servers, today introduced their most powerful upgrade processor
module yet, for their ChatterBox family of communications servers. "The
new module based on Intel's' DX4-100 was not a slam dunk" noted Rex
Jackson, J&Ls' Senior Vice President "There where some major technical
challenges to insure we could deliver the full power of the DX4-100 to our
existing customer base as well as new users."

"The new DX4 module will be offered as an upgrade path for the many
thousands of existing ChatterBox/Plus and the ChatterBox/NRS users."
Jackson went on to say, "We have designed this upgrade from the ground up,
to utilize the full 32 bit processing power of this chip, yet make sure it
remains compatible with the 16-bit peripheral market. The technology we
have developed for the DX4 -100 upgrade will give the high-end of our
ChatterBox product range a substantial boost in performance." J&L's unique
modular approach to the design of the NEZ processor boards insures that
their existing users do not fall behind in the technology race. As it is a
simple task to 'hot swap' the NEZ board, unplug the old processor/memory
module and replace it with the latest version, without switching the
system off, or bringing down the whole ChatterBox system.

The new DX4 module has been designed to utilize a 256 KB of external cache
and support's the 72 pin memory SIMMS so that it can address up to 64 MB
DRAM. It is also the first J&L processor module to utilize the local bus
architecture. This will enable the ChatterBox DX4-100 to operate extremely
fast memory access executions, now required by programs such as Citrix's
Winview for networks.

List pricing of the DX4-100 upgrade with 8MB DRAM is expected to be
$3,995.00, Deliveries will begin late fourth quarter 1994.
