BATTERY TECHNOLOGY FIRST TO MARKET WITH INTERNAL BATTERY FOR THE DUO

New Duo Battery Eases Industry Shortage Of Type III NiMH Batteries - Offers
20-Percent Longer Run Time Than Apple Type III Internal Battery

Los Angeles -- Battery Technology, Incorporated, a leading marketer of
portable computer accessories, is the first third-party developer to come
out with a higher-capacity, Type IV internal battery designed for Apple's
current line of Duo notebook computers (210-280c) and the Duos scheduled
for introduction in 1995. This latest addition to Battery Technology's
growing line of batteries for portable computers will begin shipping in
November for a suggested retail price of $129.95

"Before now, there were literally zero alternatives with respect to
internal batteries for the Duo," said Chris Chu, vice president of sales
and marketing for Battery Technologies. "Our new Duo battery is
significant not only because it's affordable and provides a 20-percent
longer run time than Apple's Type III battery, but it's the only viable
option for Duo users who are witnessing an incredible supply shortage in
batteries."

According to Chu, supplies of Type III nickel-metal-hydride batteries that
a used in both the PowerBook Duos and the PowerBook 500 laptop computers
are very scarce with no forseeable time in the future when the battery
shortage will be resolved.

The Battery Technology Duo internal battery is a nickel-metal-hydride
batter and classified as a Type IV battery. The Duo battery weighs 12
ounces and is designed with the following dimensions: 4.16 inches [L] by
3.56 inches [W] by .69 inches [H]). The Battery Technology internal
battery may be easily recharged in approximately 2.5 hours, using the Duo
with its AC plug-in adapter. Battery Technology's own external Duo battery
charger is capable of recharging the internal Duo battery in significantly
less time - under two hours.

Run times of Battery Technology's internal battery will vary depending on a
variety of factors, including the individual CPU and its configuration,
users' computing habits, settings and installed software. The internal
batteries for the Duo come with a six-month warranty and are sold through
computer resellers, domestically and internationally.
