Apple Debuts the Apple CD-ROM Collection

Popular CD-ROM Titles Offered at Low Prices Just in Time for the Holidays

CUPERTINO, California--November 1, 1994--In response to soaring consumer
demand for multimedia, and just in time for the holiday season, Apple
Computer, Inc. today announced the Apple CD-ROM Collection, available now
for U.S. customers.

Customers can select from eight CD-ROM title packs--each with three
high-quality CD-ROMs plus Xpand Xpo, a virtual tradeshow on CD-ROM
featuring demonstrations of all of the titles in the Apple CD-ROM
Collection as well as information about over 10,000 other Macintosh -
related products. At $43.50 (U.S.) suggested retail price, the Apple
CD-ROM Collection effectively offers three CD-ROMs for the price of one.
The Apple CD-ROM Collection contains entertainment and education for every
family member with topics ranging from a tour of the solar system to
learning to count. Selections include:

 - Smart Fun for Kids
 - Cool Fun for Kids
 - Adventures for Kids
 - CyberArcade
 - Holiday Selections
 - Sports and Humor
 - Encyclomedia, and
 - Learning for Adults. (See addendum for specific titles in each
    category).

"Apple's multimedia computer sales are booming," said Satjiv S. Chahil,
vice president and general manager, New Media Group, Apple Computer, Inc.
"We want to make it easy for our customers to get full value of their
systems by helping them acquire a variety of CD- ROMs at a very reasonable
price."

Rising Demand for CD-ROM Titles

"Consumer demand for CD-ROM titles is skyrocketing," says David Tremblay,
Software Publishers Association research director. "First quarter 1994 CD
software sales were up 366 percent over the first quarter of 1993 and even
exceeded the very strong 1993 Christmas season, fueled overwhelmingly by
consumer purchases."

The Apple CD-ROM Collection can be purchased at Apple authorized dealers
and software retail outlets in the U.S. To locate a nearby dealer, dial
1-800-538-9696.

The Apple CD-ROM Collection requires an Apple Macintosh computer with at
