Leading Publisher Of Electronic Automotive Repair Information Releases Its
25th Quarterly Data Release Bringing Database To Over 1 Million Pages

October 26, 1994 -- ELK GROVE, CA -- ALLDATA Corporation, the leading
publisher of electronic repair information for the automotive industry,
issued its 25th on-schedule quarterly data release this August. "We're
dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic and repair
information to our automotive repair shop customers. Since 1988 we've
consistently issued data releases to keep our customers supplied with the
most current repair information," said Carl Raine, Executive Vice
President.

In the early 1980's Rod Georgiu, ALLDATA's President and Founder, saw the
need to supply the automotive repair industry with computerized access to
automotive diagnostic and repair information. Cars were becoming
increasingly difficult to fix, primarily because of the proliferation of
on-board computers. Georgiu also knew that the millions of pages of repair
information required to repair these high-tech cars would be unmanageable
in paper format. When CD-ROM (compact disc read only memory) technology
became available in the mid 1980's, Georgiu founded ALLDATA and began
compiling the most comprehensive database of automotive repair information
available anywhere.

ALLDATA, a privately held venture capitalist backed company, has
experienced exceptional growth, winning Arthur Anderson's Fast Track 25
Award four years in a row. Between 1990 and 1993 gross revenues grew
nearly 600% from $3.6 million to $25 million. By offering much more than
just paper repair manuals on CDROM, ALLDATA has captured the leading
market share in electronic repair information. Currently, over 9,000
repair facilities use ALLDATA's diagnostic and repair database to fix cars
faster and more accurately.

By developing new ways to access its database, ALLDATA is now adding over
3,000 automotive repair shop users per year. For the first five years,
ALLDATA only offered it's database through a turnkey hardware/software
CD-ROM system. In February of 1993 ALLDATA introduced ALLDATA-LINK, its
pay-as-you go online service, and later that year introduced a CD-ROM only
product to run on a user's own PC.
Auto conscious consumers and do-it-yourselfers are next on ALLDATA's list
of target markets. ALLDATA will soon be available through Internet to
anyone interested in vehicle maintenance, safety, recall and repair
information. ALLDATA has recently invested resources to make the database
even easier to use for the consumer and automotive markets, employing
Hyperlinks and enhancing its Windows-like graphic interface.

The ALLDATA database, available on CD-ROM and also online via modem, covers
most foreign and domestic vehicles back to 1982. A simple click of the
mouse (no computer experience required) gives auto mechanics and car
enthusiasts instant access to technical service bulletins, diagnostic and
repair procedures, wiring diagrams, maintenance schedules, trouble code
diagnostic charts, PROM ID updates, component test specifications, labor
rates, part numbers and prices, and warranty and recall information.

For a complimentary "Take A Test Drive" Demo Disk that shows what's in the
database and how to use it call ALLDATA at 1-800-697-2533.
