MOLDFLOW DELIVERS WORLD FIRST ADVANCES IN NEW RELEASE

(Shelton, Connecticut - September 7, 1994) Moldflow's latest release of its
revolutionary Dynamic Series (9.0.2) delivers world-first advances in
warpage and shrinkage analysis for fiber filled materials, and in the
prediction of gas penetration during packing.

The Dynamic Series is an integrated suite of analysis tools used by
industry to optimize the total process of producing a plastic part.

The latest release also features enhancements to the overall usability of
the Dynamic Series.

World First Warpage Prediction for Fiber Filled Materials

Release 9.0.2 delivers an exciting new link between Moldflow's fiber module
and the shrinkage analysis in MF/WARP.

For the first time, customers can accurately predict shrinkage and warpage
of complex geometries for fiber filled materials.

"This link is critical as shrinkage, and subsequent warpage, of fiber
filled materials is dominated by fiber properties and fiber orientation,
rather than the behavior of the base polymer," explained Mr Peter Kennedy,
Moldflow's Technical Director.

Previously, to obtain a reasonable prediction of shrinkage and warpage of
fiber filled materials required grade specific shrinkage data, and the
results did not fully incorporate the effects of fiber orientation
distribution.

"Importantly, the new link gives customers access to every fiber filled
material on Moldflow's comprehensive material database, and uses a new
shrinkage model that can work with or without grade specific shrinkage
data," Mr Kennedy said.

The first commercial development of scientific research into the complex
behavior of fiber filled materials and the application of the data to
structural analyses, was pioneered by Moldflow in 1989. The fiber module
and analysis capability is exclusive to Moldflow.

"This link gives our customers a warpage analysis capability that is not
only the most technically and scientifically advanced in the world, but is
firmly focused on solving "real world" problems for our customers," CEO
Hugh Henderson said.

Moldflow's fiber module is also an option to MF/STRESS, where it is used to
predict the structural performance and tolerances of fiber filled plastic
parts.

Advanced Gas Penetration Prediction During Packing

Release 9.0 2 delivers a significant advances in MF/GAS' prediction of gas
penetration in the packing phase of the gas-injection cycle.

Gas penetration occurs in two phases - the first when the gas flows through
the cavity and displaces the polymer forward, filling the cavity, and the
second during packing, when the gas takes up the shrinkage of the melt.

"The accuracy of gas penetration predictions in the second phase has been a
source of problems for all suppliers of predictive software due to the
complexity and limited understanding of the physics of the process", Mr
Tim Lake, MF/GAS Product Manager explained.

Moldflow has spent considerable time and effort investigating gas
penetration during packing and the result is major enhancements to MF/GAS'
gas flow calculations, giving a significant increase in the accuracy of
predication of secondary gas penetration.

"This development means that MF/GAS is the only commercially available gas
injection analysis package to properly account for the critical second
stage of gas penetration, and consolidates Moldflow's position as world
leader in gas injection molding analysis technology", Mr Lake said.

Improved Usability

Release 9.0.2 contains several new features that further improve the
usability of the Dynamic Series. The whole Moldflow operating environment
can be customized to meet individual requirements. The project manager,
the heart of the Dynamic Series, now tracks and runs analyses without
needing MF/VIEW, Moldflow's pre and post processor.

Other new developments in Release 9.0.2 include:

* advanced insert modeling and analysis capabilities
* major enhancements to analysis convergence in MF/COOL and
  to the flow/cool interface
* refinements to MF/FLOW's automatic injection time and weld
  line prediction capabilities
* a reduction in the amount of memory required to run the Dynamic
  Series.

Third Stage of Rapid Release Program

Release 9.0.2 is the third stage of Moldflow's rapid release programme,
designed to deliver CAE technology that helps industry produce parts that
are fit-for purpose, produced on-time with a minimum of cost.

The first stage was the release of the revolutionary Dynamic Series,
(November 1993), which paved the way for all companies in the plastics
industry to benefit from producing faster, better and cheaper plastic
parts.

The second stage was the Dynamic Series for Windows (June 1994), which
gives PC users access to Moldflow's suite of optimization tools, with the
added convenience of a Windows operating environment.
