RESEARCH FOR BOARD

Jerry Rubinstein and Tom Yuen Bring Background and Expertise to Help Guide
Company in Emerging Electronic Entertainment Market

IRVINE, Calif., October 17, 1994 -- Graphix Zone (NASDAQ; GZON), an
industry-recognized expert on multimedia and producer of such CD-ROM
titles as the bestseller (Prince) Interactive and the soon-to-be-released
Bob Dylan CDROM, today announced that Jerold H. Rubinstein, chairman of
International Cablecasting Technologies and former chairman of United
Artists Records, and Thomas C. K. Yuen, founder of AST Research, have been
confirmed as members of the company's board of directors.

Graphix Zone will leverage the background and experience of Rubinstein and
Yuen to continue its pioneering efforts within the emerging electronic
entertainment arena. Rubinstein's entertainment background, when combined
with Yuen's knowledge of computers and multimedia, will help the company
as it continues to produce innovative interactive entertainment CDROM
titles.

"The convergence of technology with consumer entertainment has created
enormous market potential. In order to maintain our position as a
pacesetter in this newly-evolving market, we have called upon the diverse
talents of two leading industry luminaries to help guide the company,"
said Chuck Cortright, president and CEO of Graphix Zone.

Rubinstein explained that Graphix Zone is currently addressing an active,
high-growth market. "What makes the company unique, however, is that it
has the existing talent and infrastructure in place to evolve as the
market develops, thus, enabling it to take advantage of future market
opportunities," Rubinstein said.

Yuen agreed, citing the company's early involvement in multimedia as a
significant strong point. "As an early market pioneer, Graphix Zone has
the capabilities to bring technology and entertainment together," he said.
"The company's products will truly revolutionize the way users interact
with their computers."

Rubinstein graduated from Loyola Law School in 1965, after which he served
as the founding partner of Segal & Rubinstein, CPAs and business managers
for many notable music personalities. Rubinstein served as chairman of ABC
Records Inc. from 1975 to 1977. In 1978, he and a partner acquired United
Artists Records, selling it to EMI in 1979. He went on to co-found and
serve as chairman of the board for Bel-Air Savings & Loan. Currently,
Rubinstein serves as chairman of International Cablecasting Technologies,
a company he also founded, which markets digital audio products.

Yuen co-founded Irvine, Calif.-based AST Research in 1981. As co-chairman
and chief operating officer, Yuen helped build AST into a $1 billion
Fortune 500 company prior to his departure in 1992. Yuen went on to form
Irvine, Calif.-based NuReality, a developer and marketer of multimedia and
consumer products. Yuen currently serves as chairman for several
innovative, high-technology companies. He holds a B.S.E.E. with honors
from the University of California at Irvine.

Graphix Zone Inc., founded in 1989, is engaged in the development,
production and marketing of interactive multimedia products and services
for the personal computer industry. In addition to its reputation as a
producer of CDROM titles, the company produces multimedia sales and
training "titles" for corporate clients and is also known for its Graphix
Resource Center and national seminars. Both are designed to promote
multimedia vendors' products and provide education and information to
end-users.
