Category: Football Coaching Simulation

                        (Available, November 1994)

SAN JOSE, Calif - October 17, 1994 -- Sport Accolade, recognized as a
leading publisher of sports simulations, today announced that Live Action
Football, for IBM PC Windows CD-ROM is now scheduled to release in
November. Officially licensed by the National Football League Properties
and the NFL Players Association, Live Action Football (formerly called
All-Pro Video Football) simulates an All-Pro game utilizing the names and
statistics of 52 players from the NFLPA and the American and National
Football Conference logos. The product takes a giant leap forward in
bringing real video to the personal computer by being the first to
incorporate originally created video footage into an interactive football
game. The game will also feature play-by-play and color commentary from Al
Michaels and Pat Haden. Live Action Football will be available in November
with a suggested retail price of $69.95.

The company also announced that their previous plan to utilize "ScriptX" in
Live Action Football have been cancelled. Script X is a new technology
that enables a single compact disc to run on either an IBM or Macintosh
CD-ROM drive. ScriptX is being developed by Kaleida Labs, Inc., an
independent, privately held joint venture of Apple Computer, Inc. and IBM
Corporation.

"Our decision to move away from ScriptX for Live Action Football is
primarily due to scheduling conflicts and timing," said Todd Thorson, the
producer of the product. "This situation was heightened by the time
constraints of shipping a seasonal product." Thorson continued, "We
believe in the technology that ScriptX represents and hope Kaleida Labs
achieve what they set out to accomplish."

Kaleida Labs director of product marketing, Fred Benz added, "Accolade and
its developers are now creating the kinds of breakthrough products,
featuring extensive use of digital video and sophisticated game logic, for
which ScriptX will be ideally suited. In the future, Kaleida looks forward
to teaming with Accolade in the development of additional innovative and
exciting interactive sports titles that both reinforce Accolade's
leadership position and make use of the unique capabilities of ScriptX."

In Live Action Football, up to two players "coach" a team of NFL players,
based on recent All-Pro teams from the AFC and NFC. Coaches select plays
just like a real game. The results are then played out in full-motion
color video, using original footage shot specifically for Live Action
Football. "Numerous attempts have been made to create football simulations
using existing stock NFL footage, but these products have been limited by
the content of the available film clips," said Thorson. "By staging and
filming more than 600 actual football plays using real professional
football players, Live Action Football offers virtually unlimited play
combinations." Sport Accolade contracted the Orlando Predators of the
Arena Football League to portray the NFL stars for the product.

In this coaching style football game, the extensive computer artificial
intelligence will learn the coaching tendencies of each player and adjust
its game play and strategies accordingly. Once a player's name is logged
in, the computer will remember how he played from previous games and
adjust accordingly, forcing coaches to change their strategies often. The
instant replay feature provided allows players to review memorable plays
using the VCR-like controls.

Live Action Football offers a familiar TV-style interface with colorful
graphics and information boards, including authentic player stats. The
game will keep track of standard player and team stats from a game or a
series of games. The product also provides players with three different
computer skill levels and three game lengths: 60-minute full game, "Final
Drive" mode, and sudden-death overtime.

Sport Accolade has also announced its plans to create a franchised line of
computer sports products using the title "Live Action." This line of
sports titles will use live action footage created and staged specifically
for use in the games.
