U.S. ROBOTICS ANNOUNCES NEW VOICE PRODUCTS

Provides Small and Home Offices With Integrated Communications Solutions

SKOKIE, Ill. -- May 2, 1995 -- The Personal Communications Division of U.S.
Robotics (NASDAQ:USRX) today announced four new Sportster products that
bring professional office message center capability to the small office.

The Sportster Vi product line will include external and internal V.32 bis
and V.34 Faxmodems. All four models integrate the capabilities of a
high-speed modem, fax machine and digital answering machine into a single,
compact device. The VoiceView protocol (alternating voice and data over a
single telephone line) from Radish Communications Systems is also
incorporated into all four models.

"Our Sportster Vi products are designed to meet the data, fax and voice
communications needs of the burgeoning small office and home office
environment," said Michael Seedman, vice president and general manager of
U.S. Robotics' Personal Communications Division. "We've incorporated all
these functions into a single device that offers the customer an
affordable, reliable voice and data communications solution."

The Sportster Vi products provide the full fax and data capabilities of a
Sportster modem in addition to personal voice mail with multiple
mailboxes, remote voice message and fax retrieval capabilities, fax on
demand, caller ID and call discrimination.

The Sportster Vi 14.4 internal and external versions will begin shipping
during the second calendar quarter of 1995. List prices for the Sportster
Vi 14.4 models are $149 for the internal and $179 for the external. The
Sportster Vi 28.8 models will begin shipping later in the second quarter
of 1995. List price is $339 for the Sportster Vi 28.8 internal. List price
for the Sportster Vi 28.8 external will be announced at a later date.
