SIMPLE TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES THE FIRST 28.8 MODEM PC CARD WITH
VOICE/DATA/FAX AND CELLULAR CAPABILITIES

COMDEX...ATLANTA, Georgia (April 24, 1995)--Simple Technology, Inc. of
Santa Ana, California, today announced the 28.8 Communicator, a new PC
Card data/fax modem with both voice and cellular capabilities. The 28.8
Communicator - the industry's first PC Card to combine voice, data, fax
and cellular capabilities in a high-speed 28.8 Kbps modem - is the newest
addition to Simple Technology's growing line of PCMCIA products.

The 28.8 Communicator is a high-speed V.34 modem that enables PC and
Macintosh notebooks and laptops with a standard Type II PCMCIA slot to
connect to bulletin boards, fax machines, and other computers via the
standard USA phone network. In addition, the 28.8 Communicator features
voice capabilities, allowing users to automatically answer and record
incoming calls. The 28.8 Communicator is also cellular-ready for mobile
communication over a cellular phone.

Communicator features up to 28,800 bps for data transmission and 14,400
bps for fax transmission. The 28.8 Communicator supports V.42 bis data
compression and V.42 error correction.

Voice Capabilities

The 28.8 Communicator has voice capabilities that allow a computer to
perform functions similar to voice mail, including answering and recording
incoming calls, separate mailboxes for multiple users, and automatic
paging to notify the user that incoming messages have been received.

Cellular-Ready

The 28.8 Communicator is cellular-ready for voice/data/fax communication
over a cellular phone. The 28.8 Communicator supports MNP10-EC protocol
for optimum cellular transmissions during poor reception and/or channel
fluctuations. MNP5 data compression and MNP2-4 error correction are also
supported.

"Our high-speed 28.8 Communicator provides users with a combination
data/fax modem with voice and cellular capabilities, all in a credit-card
size product," says Mike Moshayedi, president of Simple Technology, Inc.
"We are excited to be able to offer a powerful fast, easy-to-use product
that meets a broad range of communication needs."

With additional features such as the low power usage of the 28.8
Communicator in active mode, and its power-saving standby mode, users can
expect longer battery life in notebooks and laptops.

The product ships complete with DOS and Windows or Mac OS data/fax
communication software, PCMCIA Card and Socket Services drivers for simple
"plug and play" installation, and complete reference and installation
manuals. The software also supports the voice capabilities of the modem.
