SHARP INTRODUCES ECONOMICAL HIGH BRIGHTNESS ACTIVE MATRIX COLOR LCD
PROJECTION PANEL WITH BUILT-IN SPEAKER

New Sharp Panel Projects Bright and Clear Images Even in Rooms Where
Lighting Cannot be Controlled

NEW YORK, June 20, 1995 -- Sharp Electronics Corporation announces the
QA-1200, a 5.5 lb full-featured computer/video LCD projection panel with a
new high transmissivity 1.7 million color TFT LCD display. The QA-1200 is
designed for educators and other professionals who require bright images
and multimedia capabilities in a lightweight, ultra-portable
cost-competitive projection panel.

With approximately 45 percent higher brightness than earlier TFT panels and
a high 150:1 contrast ratio when used with a standard overhead projector,
the QA-1200 projects images with exceptional clarity, even in rooms where
the lighting cannot be controlled.

The 640 x 480 resolution Sharp projection panel offers compatibility with
Macintosh and IBM-compatible PCs, as well as video (and audio) sources. It
also provides front-screen as well as rear-projection capabilities, and
on-screen menu displays that simplify setup.

A back-lit wireless remote control adjusts settings for sound and image and
enables presenters to switch freely between computer and video sources. In
addition, the remote permits users to freeze images and zoom in on
selected portions enlarging them to full screen size. A built-in
loudspeaker provides sound from both computer and video sources.

Compact in size, the QA-1200 is small enough to be transported in a
standard attache case. For worldwide travellers, the QA-1200 projects
NTSC, PAL and SECAM video signals. For small group presentations, as well
as for desktop use, a slim backlight unit (QA-BL2) can convert the QA-1200
into a direct view monitor, eliminating the need for an overhead
projector.

The QA-1200 will be available in July at a suggested list price of $3,995.
The QA-1200 is also available as a package with a backlight (QA-1200BL)
for a suggested list price of $4,195.
