THREE NEW KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE PRODUCTS, NOW SHIPPING, EXPAND ACCESS TO
PHOTO CD TECHNOLOGY

NEW YORK CITY, June 20, 1995--Continuing to drive expanded use of Photo CD
technology in commercial applications, Kodak today announced that three
recently upgraded products are shipping and now available worldwide:

* Photo CD imaging workstation 4220--allowing Photo CD service providers to
produce discs more quickly for their customers, with added features like
encryption and watermarking of digitized Photo CD images;

* Build-it software--delivering Photo CD portfolio II authoring
capabilities to desktop computer users; and

* Portable player N2000--a compact player that fits easily in a briefcase
and connects quickly to any television for making Photo CD presentations
on-the-go

"These products show our strong commitment to bringing high-quality Photo
CD products and services to our customers," said Paul McAfee, director of
worldwide and U.S. & Canada Photo CD marketing for Kodak. "The new
products make Kodak Digital Science Photo CD technology more easily
accessible than ever, enhancing its value for printing and publishing,
multimedia presentations, image archiving and desktop computing
applications."

About the New PIWs

The family of Photo CD imaging workstations (PIWs)--consisting of the PIW
2220, PIW 2420 and PIW 4220 platforms--offers commercial labs,
photofinishers and other Photo CD service providers new features to meet
the needs of customers in prepress, multimedia and image archiving
applications.

The workstations convert film images to high-resolution digital images in
the Kodak Digital Science Image Pac format. The PIW 2220 and 2420 are
designed to scan 35 mm negatives and produce Kodak Digital Science Photo
CD master discs, while the PIW 4220 can also scan larger format films--up
to 4 x 5 inches--and produce Kodak Digital Science Pro Photo CD master
discs. The Pro Photo CD disc format offers optimal scanning resolutions up
to 4096 x 6144 pixels, 4 times greater than the master disc format. All
workstations employ the Sun Sparc 20 computer with Solaris 2.3 operating
system, along with a Kodak Digital Science scanner, disc writer, thermal
printer and software.

New Kodak Digital Science software and workstations being shipped today
upgrade the PIW family with a number of enhanced features, including:

* High-speed scans--up to twice as fast as the earlier model, allowing
users to scan up to 30 high-resolution Pro Photo CD images per hour;

* Watermarking, which adds company logos, graphics or designated text to
the on-disc images to prevent unauthorized use;

* Disc-level data encryption, which allows use of low-resolution images for
layout and customer approval, but blocks use of high-resolution images
without the appropriate "key," a numerical code on a floppy disk; and

* The ability to crop images, adjust color, remove dust and make other
adjustments before writing high-resolution images to a Photo CD disc.

"Our members have been instrumental in beta testing the new PIW 4220 and
have reported immediate productivity gains of 100%," said Bill Smith,
president of the Association of Photo CD Imagers (APCDI), a user group of
PIW owners "Photo CD is a product with a great future and we look forward
to continuing to work closely with Kodak to expand the use and
availability of Photo CD master disc formats."

The Photo CD imaging S420 data manager, which upgrades earlier versions of
the PIW, can be purchased directly from Kodak for $30,000 until October 1,
1995, when the price will become $45,000. Owners of the PIW 4200, 2400 and
2200 all can purchase the software upgrade. The watermarking and
encryption features are available only on Pro Photo CD discs.

About Kodak Digital Science Build-It Software

Build-it Photo CD portfolio disc production software is shipping today for
Windows NT software and native Power Macintosh computers. These products
join the original version of build-it software, which is based on the Sun
platform, and build-it software designed for Macintosh 68040 computers.

Build-it software, which is being demonstrated in the Kodak booth (#2450)
at PC Expo, can be used to write Kodak Digital Science Photo CD portfolio
II discs--a disc format that contains Photo CD Image Pac files and other
digital content. Photo CD portfolio II discs meet the needs of customers
in prepress, presentations, image archiving and other applications. The
software will target two primary application categories:

* Presentations. People using popular presentation software can write their
presentations to a Photo CD disc on their Macintosh and Windows-based
computers, allowing those presentations to be played on televisions and
CD-ROM-equipped computers. In addition to these "CD slide show"
presentations, people will use Kodak Digital Science arrange-it software
to write multimedia programs that combine presentation frames with sound
and complex, interactive menu branching. Arrange-it outputs scripts that
can be processed by build-it software and written to disc.

* Image archiving. Professionals who work extensively with images use the
software to store and distribute images in the Photo CD format, widely
accepted as a standard for working with images on computers.

Build-it software also will allow users to record data in the ISO 9660
format, the standard for CD-Recordable discs. For these applications,
build-it will write images, software, ASCII text and other data files to
any ISO-standard disc, such as a Kodak Digital Science writable CD.

Build-it and Windows NT software and native Power Macintosh computer
versions are both available for a suggested list price of $995. Owners of
the original Macintosh version can receive a free upgrade to the Power
Macintosh software.

In the U.S., build-it software for the desktop is distributed through Photo
CD service providers and dealers of Kodak Digital Science products.

The company also offers a complete, turnkey authoring system for Photo CD
portfolio II discs, including build-it and arrange-it software, a Kodak
Digital Science PCD writer 225, a SCSI card and cables for a suggested
list price of $3,995.

About the Kodak Digital Science Portable Player N2000

The Photo CD portable player N2000 offers dramatic speed improvements over
its predecessor, a newly designed remote control and features that provide
enhanced flexibility for "on-the-go" presentations.

Designed for playback of Photo CD-based presentations, the N2000--which
fits easily in a briefcase--offers fast transitions between images. It is
ideal for product demonstrations, training sessions, image catalogs and
similar applications. Other commercial uses include retail sales kiosks,
public safety, travel and tourism.

The new player features an ergonomic remote control that can be tethered to
the player or operated as a wireless device. With the remote, a user can
control all of the player's operations, including a new Escape/Return
bookmark feature, which allows users to move easily between different
playback modes.

The series of Kodak Digital Science portable players are available
worldwide, in both NTSC and PAL versions. The units are sold exclusively
through Photo CD service providers and distributors of presentation
technology products for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $399. A
presentation accessory kit, providing all the cables and plug converters
needed to connect the player to any television, is bundled with the player
for a total price of $499 in the U.S.
