IOMEGA OFFERS NEW STANDARD FOR DESKTOP STORAGE

Internal Zip Drive, 70 Times Capacity of Floppy Drives, Hard Drive
Performance

Power Computing to Offer Zip Drive in Desktop Systems

ROY, Utah June 6, 1995--Iomega Corporation today introduced a new industry
standard for desktop computer storage with the announcement of an internal
version of its popular Zip drive that uses interchangeable 100- and
25-megabyte Zip disks to provide up to 70 times the capacity of
traditional floppy disks with performance comparable to today's hard-disk
drives.

In support of the new standard, Iomega also announced an agreement with
Power Computing, the influential new Macintosh clone manufacturer, which
will be the first company to offer computers with built-in Zip drives.

The internal Zip drive enables Macintosh and Microsoft Windows users to
take full advantage of new applications such as multimedia, on-line
services, graphics and work group programs.

"With all of the memory intensive applications on the market today, it is
clear that computer users need a new desktop computer storage standard,"
said Kim B. Edwards, Iomega president and CEO. "That standard needs to be
one that offers the familiarity of floppies and the capacity and
performance of hard drives. The Zip drive fits that need perfectly. It's
essentially the floppy for the multimedia age."

Industry analysts and customers recognize that storage limitations inherent
in today's disk options are keeping people from doing the things they want
to do with their computers. In addition, hard-disk drives are filling up
at a faster rate than users anticipated when they purchased their system.

"Floppy technology just doesn't satisfy the requirements for secondary
storage any more," said Stan Corker, director of removable storage
research for International Data Corporation. "Users want much higher
capacity and hard disk-like performance to take advantage of today's
demanding new applications. There is a clear need for an alternative, and,
based on the reaction of early buyers, Zip could be that alternative."

Serving as three drives in one, Iomega's new internal Zip drive will open
new doors for consumers as a convenient means of upgrading or enhancing
their hard drive, moving files and backing up information.

Ideal for stand-alone computers or networked desktops, Zip disks hold up to
100 megabytes of information, allowing consumers to free hard drive space
and expand the capabilities of their current computers.

In addition, the Zip drive assists network managers by enabling desktop
users to easily supplement their own hard drives and do their own backup,
unleashing storage capacity on the server and freeing up network
resources.

Power Computing Leads the Way

Recognizing the advantages for its customers, Power Computing will begin
shipping systems using the internal Zip drive beginning in August. Power
Computing will introduce the Zip drive as an option in its line of
Mac-compatible desktop and tower systems--Power 80, Power 100 and Power
110

"The speed, capacity and price point of Zip technology is a true
breakthrough in storage," said Stephen Kahng, president and CEO of Power
Computing. "For the first time, users will have an alternative to the
floppy with unlimited capacity. This means they can save larger files,
more images, video and audio on a very inexpensive, transportable
medium."

Power Computing said they will display a system with an internal Zip drive
in Iomega's booth at the PC Expo trade show in New York this month and at
Macworld Expo/Boston in August.

"The support of a major new computer manufacturer is a considerable
endorsement of this new storage standard," said Timothy L. Hill, Iomega
vice president of marketing. "Power Computing clearly recognizes that Zip
provides a competitive advantage for them as a company. Their decision to
use Zip as an internal drive says a lot about their ability to innovate
and differentiate themselves and about how they are tuned-in to their
targeted customers."

Proven Technology, Backward Compatibility

The new internal Zip drive comes in two configurations, including one that
provides simple backward compatibility with today's 1.44-megabyte disks.

Computer manufacturers can either incorporate an internal Zip drive with
existing 3.5-inch floppy drives or purchase a Zip internal combo, which
integrates the Zip drive and a standard 3.5-inch floppy drive into one
consolidated unit that takes up only one 5.25-inch bay. The low-priced
combo drive saves expansion space and enables system manufacturers to
generate higher margins.

The internal Zip drive will be available at volume discounts to computer
manufacturers, and will also be available to end users through
distributors later in the year. All Zip drives come bundled with Zip
tools, the industry's leading software for moving, protecting and managing
information.
