Intergraph Announces Support of Microsoft SQL Server 6

NEW YORK, June 20, 1995 - Intergraph Software Solutions (ISS) announced,
today, that it intends to support Microsoft SQL Server version 6.0.

ISS President Tommy Steele made the announcement to coincide with
Microsoft's introduction of Microsoft SQL Server 6 at PC Expo here. ISS is
the software business unit of Intergraph Corporation (Huntsville, Ala.).

Steele said Intergraph has always tried to give its customers their choice
of database support. Microsoft SQL Server 6 will become part of an arsenal
of database management products that ISS supports, which includes: Sybase,
Informix, Oracle, Ingres, Rdb, DB2/MVS and DB2/400.

"More importantly," Steele said, "this decision enables our customers to
connect hundreds of Windows NT-compatible technical applications, through
our SQL Relational Interface System, to Microsoft SQL Server 6, an
extremely well-engineered Windows NT-compatible relational database
management system.

"This is the kind of end-to-end compatibility we envisioned when we first
agreed to work with Microsoft on Windows NT development two years ago."

Steele said ISS offers more than 250 Windows NT applications, and that
many, such as geographic information systems (GIS), use relational
databases extensively.

"Testing Microsoft SQL Server 6 with our GIS and utility applications has
yielded promising results," Steele said.

Steele said that early testing also has revealed the ability to set
database options, backup and restore databases, manage user-groups,
schedule tasks and view error logs, from the desktop, as easily with
remote databases as with local databases.

"And the real beauty is that you can navigate through Microsoft SQL Server
6, and perform all these remote operations, by pointing and clicking. You
don't have to remember any complicated syntax. This is real progress,"
Steele said.

Jim Allchin, senior vice president of the business systems division at
Microsoft said, "We're extremely pleased to have Intergraph join the
growing list of companies supporting Microsoft SQL Server 6. We're
confident that Intergraph's technical customers, especially those in
geographic information systems and utility mapping, who create and manage
large relational databases, will appreciate the high performance level and
scalability SQL Server 6.0 provides."
