HP ADDS 133MHz PENTIUM PROCESSOR TO HIGH-END DESKTOP PCs, NETWORK SERVERS

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 12, 1995 -- Hewlett Packard Company today announced
it has added Intel's new 133MHz Pentium processor to its high-end HP
Vectra PCs and its HP NetServer LS Series. With entry-level pricing
projected at $2,640 for the desktop PCs and just under $10,200 for the
network servers, the new 133MHz systems deliver the highest-level
processor performance for the money.

"Our goal continues to be to provide our customers with a complete range of
products that take advantage of the latest advancements in technology,"
said Richard C. Watts, HP vice president and general manager of HP's
Personal Information Products Group. "With the 133 MHz, we now offer
systems that meet the needs of even the most power-hungry customer."

The HP Vectra XM3 PCs, announced today, with support for the 133MHz
processor, create a new class of PCs that provide seamless multivendor
compatibility, industry-standard remote management capabilities, network
readiness and comprehensive security attributes in a range of Pentium
processor performance. The new Vectra PC line addresses the need for
business users to cost effectively install and remotely manage desktop PCs
on the network.

HP today also introduced the HP NetServer LS Series, which is capable of
supporting the Intel 133MHz Pentium processor. Capable of quad symmetric
multiprocessing, the Pentium/133 system features dual PCI Peer buses.
These high-end multiprocessor servers provide a scaleable, fault-tolerant
platform for high-end, business-critical LAN environments.

The HP NetServer LS2 5/133, HP's dual-processor Pentium 133MHz model,
offers customers industry-leading price/performance. The NetServer LS2
5/133 delivered an impressive 419 tpsB at the low cost of $259 per tpsB.

"This new series is one of the first Pentium 133MHz multiprocessor series
available in the industry, said James P. McDonnell, worldwide marketing
manager of HP's Network Server Division. "High-performance processors and
a system architecture that s designed from the ground up deliver the
performance needed to meet or beat the requirements of the most demanding
businesses."
