Great Plains Software Announces Support for Btrieve Technologies' Btrieve
for Windows NT

Expands Database Options for Dynamic LAN and Dynamics C/S I Customers

New York, June 20, 1995 -- Great Plains Software announced today its
support of Btrieve for Windows NT for Dynamics LAN and Dynamics C/S+, its
open suite of 32-bit financial client/server applications. Adding support
for Btrieve for Windows NT further broadens the range of database options
for Dynamics LAN and Dynamics C/S+ customers. Support for Btrieve for
Windows NT, available Q3 1995, will provide Dynamics customers with
enhanced database security and data access through a variety of tools.

"Our objective is to build advanced database engines tuned for the distinct
requirements of commercial developers," said Bo Holland, director of
product marketing at Btrieve Technologies, Inc. "Developed for use with
Btrieve 6.15, Dynamics C/S+ and Dynamics LAN are financial client/server
applications with unparalleled reliability and scalability. With the
support of Btrieve for Windows NT, customers can choose either NetWare or
Windows NT as their server platform."

The pairing of Btrieve with Microsoft Windows NT Server provides Dynamics
customers with network stability, architectural security, and speed in
database management. This partnership also provides multiprocessing
capabilities and ease of installation and maintenance.

"We design our accounting solutions to take advantage of the latest
technologies, giving our customers the ability to chose from a variety of
high performance databases to meet their system and operational needs,"
said Ray August, chief technology officer at Great Plains Software. "As we
continue to concentrate on feature sets and accounting functionality, we
also incorporate the technological strengths Btrieve and Microsoft Windows
NT provide to give the power, scalability and ease of use our customers
want," said August.

Dynamics LAN is designed for small to medium businesses migrating to
Windows from traditional DOS systems, while Dynamics C/S 1 a three-tier
client/server product--is designed for businesses downsizing from
minicomputers or upsizing from LAN systems to client/server
configurations.

Both Dynamics LAN and Dynamics C/S+ support the entire family of Microsoft
Windows desktop environments, as well as Macintosh and Power Macintosh
clients. Both products work on Windows NT as both client and server
operating systems. Dynamics LAN also supports Netware as a server
platform. In addition, Dynamics C/S+ supports UNIX as a server platform.
Great Plains support of Windows 95 and Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 will
follow upon their release.
