Gateway 2000's new 133MHz Pentium system shatters benchmark scores

NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD, June 14, 1995 -- Gateway 2000 (Nasdaq: GATE) today
introduced the P5-133XL, based on Intel's new 133MHz Pentium processor.
The P5-133XL, priced at $4,399, is fully configured to provide the extra
horsepower necessary to support future applications such as Native Signal
Processing, and video teleconferencing. Gateway is taking orders today for
the P5-133XL and will begin shipping within ten days.

"Our customer response to our 120MHz Pentium has been incredible and now,
we've put even more muscle into the P5-133XL, making it the ultimate
desktop PC--powerful, yet affordable," said Gateway 2000 chairman and CEO
Ted Waitt.

Designed for performance, Gateway's 133MHZ Pentium system is ten percent
faster than the P5120XL. The P5-133XL clocked in at 204 Winstones using
Ziff Davis's WinBench in Gateway's engineering labs; recording the fastest
Winstone score yet.

"The P5-133XL yields an incredible end user experience," said Rob Cheng,
vice president of desktop products. "We've teamed Intel's most powerful
processor with the highest-performance components--a complete combination
that provides our customers with the power and the functionality they need
today with the potential to support tomorrow's exciting and demanding
applications."

The P5-133's 16MB of speed-boosting EDO memory and 256K pipelined burst
cache along with the 1.6GB enhanced IDE hard drive give it the capability
to zip through the most demanding applications with ease. Gateway's
17-inch Vivitron monitor, based on Sony Trinitron tube technology and the
ATI Mach 64 video card with 2MB VRAM, create a bright, vivid display.

The P5-133XL is bundled with another industry first--the 4X
(quadruple-speed) 3-CD changer -which provides both speed and convenience
to take advantage of the latest business and entertainment software
packages. The three-CD changer plays standard data, music and photo CDs,
and features convenient, efficient switching between CDs. CDs are simply
loaded into the disc cartridge, allowing users to easily switch between
multiple discs, with access to 1.8GB of information. Gateway's 16-bit
wavetable sound card and high-quality speakers are also part of the
standard P5-133XL configuration.

Also included is a new 28,800bps fax/modem communication center which makes
Internet access a breeze. The communications software includes FaxWorks
and trial memberships to CompuServe, America Online and Prodigy.

This fully-loaded P5-133XL configuration costs $4,399. However, Gateway
2000 offers customers the flexibility of build-to-order or pre- configured
systems. Customers who want to do so can customize any Gateway 2000 PC by
ordering memory upgrades and selecting from a wide variety of hard drives,
video cards, monitors, fax/modems, and software applications.

Gateway is currently offering a Microsoft Windows 95 upgrade with lifetime
technical support at no additional charge with the purchase of a P5-133XL
or with the purchase of any system from Gateway. For people who already
