EveryWare Development Corp. Commits to OpenDoc Development

Butler SQL/ODBC OpenDoc Tools on display at PC Expo.

NEW YORK - at PC Expo - June 20, 1995--EveryWare Development Corp. today
announced that it will be participating in an OpenDoc Developers' Pavilion
at PC Expo in NYC from June 20 through 22, 1995. EveryWare's OpenDoc
strategy centers on the creation of a suite of forms-based OpenDoc parts
for generic manipulation of Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) standard
databases, including their own SQL client/server database, Butler SQL.

"Our goal with OpenDoc is to bring easy-to-use database tools to the
consumer. With our Butler SQL/ODBC OpenDoc Tools, users will be able to
easily integrate database access into any OpenDoc-compliant document.
We're empowering the end-user as well as the programmer to manipulate
powerful SQL database servers, such as Butler SQL, in a very natural and
automated way," said Dan McKenzie, president of EveryWare.

EveryWare's Butler SQL/ODBC OpenDoc Tools use an interactive process to
construct the forms used in the OpenDoc document. To create fields
corresponding to database elements, users simply point-and-click through a
series of dialogs. The user can re-position and set attributes for the
created fields.

Any OpenDoc-compliant document will be able to integrate database
functionality. A text document, for example, could have a series of fields
that show the latest sales figures from the database every time it is
opened.

EveryWare is no stranger to creating easy-to-use database tools. The
recently released ButlerLink/Web, a toolkit for integrating Butler SQL
with the Macintosh World-Wide Web server, WebSTAR, is included with
Apple's Internet servers. EveryWare says it is the extremely positive
response to ButlerLink/Web that motivated them to develop a more generic
suite of database access tools with OpenDoc. EveryWare also cites OpenDoc
attributes such as component architecture, object orientation, vendor
neutrality and cross platform capability as important factors in their
decision to support OpenDoc.

"The development of our ButlerLink series of products has given us a lot of
insight into creating easy-to-use database access tools," said Mark
Wickens, EveryWare's product manager for the ButlerLink product line. "Our
goal is to make Butler SQL accessible from virtually any document. The
open, cross-platform architecture of OpenDoc will help us achieve this
objective."

EveryWare is planning to ship their first suite of OpenDoc tools in Q4
1995.
