Deutsch Research Announces MacSPICE 7.0 for the Power Macintosh

LOS ALTOS, California - June 19, 1995 - Deutsch Research today announced
MacSPICE 7.0 for the Power Macintosh, bringing to EDA users a new level of
circuit simulation performance on personal computers - simulation
performance in the range of a SPICE circuit simulation program running on
a Cray-1 Supercomputer.

MacSPICE 7.0 is an interactive circuit simulation program that allows users
to view simulation results in real-time as the simulation proceeds,
providing instant feedback on design decisions. MacSPICE 7.0 provides DC
analysis to determine power consumption and circuit operating points, AC
analysis to determine frequency response and full nonlinear transient
analysis to determine how a circuit responds to large changes on its
inputs. MacSPICE 7.0 can simulate large circuits (over 10,000 nodes) and
provides Monte Carlo and worst-case analysis to optimize manufacturing
yield. In addition, MacSPICE 7.0 provides many facilities including
algebraic expressions, Laplace transforms, frequency tables, and over 50
additional math functions for analog behavioral modeling. It is compatible
with all major analog parts libraries and comes with an extensive model
library of its own including models for over 3,000 state of the art
parts.

According to Dr. Jeffrey T. Deutsch, President, "MacSPICE 7.0 has been
optimized to the Power Macintosh computer and has been specifically tuned
to achieve the maximum performance from the Super-scalar 604 PowerPC-based
Macintosh 9500." Deutsch continued, "With the announcement of the
Macintosh 9500, Apple Computer has taken the high ground in the mainstream
personal computer market. The combination of super-scalar execution, large
secondary caches and a wide path to main memory results in performance
that is in the range of a Cray-1 Supercomputer."

A New Analog Simulation Paradigm

MacSPICE 7.0 combines a complete analog simulation environment with the
ease of use of Macintosh. MacSPICE 7.0 is completely GUI driven and
provides extensive graphics support (linear, log, linear-log, log-log,
Bodie and multi-pane plots) both in real time and for post processing
waveform display. MacSPICE 7.0 is a full implementation of SPICE,
including all SPICE2 and SPICE3 features as well as compatibility with
other popular commercial SPICE packages.

MacSPICE 7.0 provides DC analysis for determining power consumption and
circuit operating points, AC analysis for determining frequency response,
and full non-linear transient analysis for determining how a circuit
responds to large changes on its inputs. In addition, MacSPICE 7.0
provides a unique facility - the exclusive Deutsch Research Analog
Database (DAD) - which provides rapid access to waveforms from large
simulations.

MacSPICE 7.0 is priced at $2,995.00 and is available from stock.

Deutsch Research develops and markets advanced circuit simulation tools for
analog and mixed A/D board and IC design.
