CIRQUE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES GLIDEPOINT POINTING DEVICES FOR DESKTOP

SALT LAKE CITY, April 3, 1995 -- Cirque Corporation, the original developer
of trackpad technology, today announced an expansion of its product line
with the introduction of GlidePoint Desktop, GlicePoint Desktop Mac, and
GlidePoint Keyboard. GlidePoint is a stationary pointing device that
translates finger movement across a touch surface into cursor movement on
a screen.

"Thus far, the trackpad's success has been driven by demand for intuitive
yet rugged devices for portable computers. Now our customers are asking
for the same reliable solution for their desktop systems." said Jim
O'Callaghan, Cirque's vice president of marketing and sales. "Cirque's new
products will allow users to replace their current pointing devices on the
desktop with more precise, durable GlidePoint technology.

GlidePoint Desktop, GlidePoint Desktop Mac

Building on its experience as the leader in the fast-growing trackpad
market, Cirque has developed GlidePoint Desktop and GlidePoint Desktop Mac
with touch surfaces that are 30% larger than portable models for improved
cursor control on desktop monitors. These stand-alone products rely on
fewer moving parts and less desk space than current mouse or trackball
devices.

GlidePoint Desktop for IBM and compatibles is available now for both serial
and PS/2 ports and carries a suggested retail price (SRP) of $89.
GlidePoint Desktop for Macintosh with standard ADB connector will be
available in early June, with an SRP of $99.

GlidePoint Keyboard

"Built into the mobile computer, GlidePoint has proven to be an elegant
alternative to the trackball and other pointing devices.", said Jim
O'Callaghan. "With GlidePoint Keyboard for the desktop we take the next
logical step, addressing a market of approximately 170 million desktop
users worldwide with an intuitive one-piece solution for the home and
business office."

GlidePoint Keyboard is a standard keyboard designed with a built-in
trackpad, saving valuable desk space traditionally required by a pointing
device. GlidePoint Keyboard, for IBM and compatibles, will be available
early calendar Q3; pricing TBA.

How it works

GlidePoint technology achieves high internal resolution (1,000 cpi) using a
patented mutual capacitance sensing system. A grid of electrodes lies
hidden beneath the touch surface. Presence and movement of a finger alters
mutual capacitances between the electrodes, which are measured by
precision electronics. Wherever a finger goes on the surface, the cursor
goes on the screen. Tapping on the pad simulates button "clicks".

GlidePoint is a solid-state technology with no moving parts to clog or
break down. Mechanical buttons are available for optional use.

Ergonomic Advantages

Computer users with pre-existing repetitive strain injuries have reported
reduced tension when they replace their current pointing device with
GlidePoint. Most favorable response has come from those users able to hold
GlidePoint in the hand or on the lap. All models (excluding GlidePoint
Keyboard) ship with an ergonomic wristrest for less stress in the hand and
wrist on the desktop.

Customer Support

All GlidePoint products are manufactured in the USA and come with a
lifetime warranty, a guaranteed service program, and toll-free technical
assistance (1-800-GLIDE-75).

Cirque, a privately-held Utah corporation, was founded in 1991 with a
mission to provide the highest quality input technologies that simplify
human control of computers. As the original developer of GlidePoint
technology, Cirque is committed to the integration of trackpads as an
industry standard and actively encourages strategic relationships. Cirque
currently licenses GlidePoint to Alps Electric Inc. and other
non-disclosed companies.
