CHEYENNE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES ENTERPRISE-WIDE DATA MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES
FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS NT PLATFORM

ARCserve for Windows NT 2. 0 Provides Powerful Centralized Administration
and Native Client Agent for NetWare, Delivering Enterprise Data
Management

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY (June 20, 1995) -- To further expand its powerful
Microsoft Windows NT system extensions, Cheyenne Software, Inc. (AMEX:CYE)
today announced a wide range of backup and restore features in ARCserve
for Windows NT v2.0. The product now offers the essential capabilities
needed to properly manage multi-site Windows NT enterprises. These
features include central administration, a native client agent for
NetWare, intelligent alert notification, and a virus scan engine. In
addition, ARCserve for Windows NT now offers support for Windows 3.51.

"ARCserve for Windows NT 2.0 was designed to fit the specific needs of
security, interconnectivity and centralized management currently
unfulfilled in the rapidly growing Windows NT networks," said Mary
Fenton-Lee, Cheyenne Windows NT product manager. "Cheyenne is uniquely
positioned, in both market presence and technical expertise, to provide
the multi-platform integration and optimization demanded by today's MIS
professionals."

For example, ARCserve for Windows NT 2.0 offers unique centralized
administration capabilities, providing flexible NT backup and restore
services. Multiple data management operations can be administered,
controlled and monitored concurrently across multiple sites from any
designated Windows NT workstation. The administrator need only tile
several windows to launch an operation, including report generation or
backup processing. In addition, the manager can receive simultaneous,
real-time monitoring information without changing to another interface or
launching a separate application. And, by leveraging Windows NT's Remote
Access Service (RAS), the administrator can dial into the network to
perform backup routines as if the remote PC were a local workstation.

Heterogeneous Microsoft Windows NT/NetWare networks will derive significant
benefits from ARCserve's native client agent for NetWare. The first
Windows NT data management product to provide this integration, ARCserve
for Windows NT 2.0 allows a Windows NT server to backup any NetWare server
(3.x and 4.x) across the enterprise. ARCserve also backs up critical
NetWare 3.x Bindary and NetWare 4.x NetWare Directory Services (NDS) data
with the highest level of security and performance. Cheyenne's innovative
agent technology (UNIX, Macintosh, Windows 95, Windows NT, OS/2 and DOS),
is time proven and has been designed to optimize the intelligence of the
native operating system.

ARCserve for Windows NT's intelligent alert notification allows network
managers to choose their preferred method of notification: e-mail,
facsimile, alpha-numeric paging, SNMP management console, network
broadcast or print queue (Trouble Ticket). This guarantees that current
information is received where and when it is needed.

Unique in the industry, ARCserve for Windows NT includes a virus scanning
engine to further provide high data integrity. Incorporated from
Cheyenne's InocuLAN for Windows NT antivirus software, ARCserve for
Windows NT scans all selected files prior to backup, and allows the
administrator to skip, rename or delete an infected file. When used in
conjunction with InocuLAN, the entire network is protected and infected
files can be repaired if detected.

ARCserve for Windows NT 2.0 will offer optional client agent support for
UNIX, Windows 3.x, Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Windows 95, Macintosh and
OS/2 clients, as well as database agent support for Microsoft SQL Server
6.0, Oracle, SAP R/3, Microsoft Exchange, Sybase, Lotus Notes, Gupta and
Informix. These agents will be announced throughout the balance of 1995.
Also planned for release this year is support for MIPS, PowerPC and
Digital' s Alpha platforms.

ARCserve for Windows NT, version 2.0 will be available through Cheyenne's
wide distributor and reseller network in the third quarter. The U.S.
suggested retail price (SRP) will be $1,395.00. Autochanger support is
currently available as an optional software module, for unattended backup
of large file systems, at a U.S. suggested retail price of $595.00. The
currently shipping autochanger option is compatible with both ARCserve for
Windows NT version 1.0 and version 2.0. Cheyenne will make an upgrade to
version 2.0 available for all version 1.0 users, at a U.S. suggested
retail price of $29.95, plus shipping and handling.
