The Macintosh SCSI Expert Ships SCSI Accelerator Family for PCI

May 9, 1995 -- Amherst, New York (USA) -- ATTO Technology has begun
shipping its ExpressPCI family of PCI-based SCSI-3 accelerators for the
PCI based Power Macintosh from Apple. ExpressPCI is an ultra-high
performance FAST/WIDE (16-bit) SCSI-3 accelerator designed specifically
for today's disk-intensive Digital Video, Prepress, Multimedia, and
Real-Time applications. This family of four cards includes both single and
dual-port SCSI-3 versions that can sustain up to 40 MBytes/sec. of SCSI
data transfers. Compatible with all popular SCSI devices, ExpressPCI will
dramatically increase the performance of hard drives, disk arrays,
CD-ROMs, DAT and other storage devices.

ExpressPCI supports the commands, advanced features and high transfer rates
of the latest high-end SCSI drives. The dual-port ExpressPCI card can
support 30 SCSI Bus ID's -and up to 210 devices using Logical Unit Numbers
(LUNs)--on a single SCSI-3 accelerator. This will allow video
professionals the ability to manage hundreds of hours of video with only
one card, or allow easy connectivity to the large number of peripherals
available to Prepress experts.

Built for today's video and graphics-intensive applications, ExpressPCI has
expansion in mind. A built-in, multi-port OEM adapter will allow
integrators the ability to add more functionality through snap-on modules.
OEMs will also have the ability to design their own cards or interface
through an internal PCI-based bus, all of which assures the highest level
of performance and integration.

Both the single and dual-port ExpressPCI cards provide full RAID support
for RAID Levels 0, 1, 5, and 10 on both internal and external drives.
Achieve maximum RAID level performance with ExpressPCI's multiple channel
capabilities. This allows RAID configurations with each independent drive
in the array assigned its own channel.

ATTO's ExpressPCI card contains an on-board RISC processor to relieve the
system's CPU from managing SCSI-3 protocol, command processing,
disconnect/reconnect, and other SCSI related overhead. Advanced bus
management features include Multi-threaded l/O, Scatter/Gather, and Write
Posting Support. These advanced bus management capabilities allow
Real-Time applications, such as mission critical systems, to get the data
they need without sacrificing the real time characteristics they require.

Based in Amherst, New York, ATTO Technology is a manufacturer of SCSI
acceleration devices, and other computer enhancement products for the
Macintosh, workstation, minicomputer, and personal computer environments.
ATTO distributes its products worldwide through Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEMs), Value Added Resellers (VARs), System Integrators,
