Altima Systems Announces NEW Pentium-based Notebook With Option Of Internal
CD-ROM

New York, New York--June 20, 1995--Altima Systems, Inc. Today announced it
will ship the Virage3 CD notebook computer, the newest in the Virage
series, by mid-summer 1995. Joining the Virage and Virage II, the new
Virage3 CD is a Pentium-based notebook with the option of an internal
CD-ROM. As is standard with all notebooks in the Virage family, the
Virage3 CD is built with a modular design. The Virage3 CD offers more than
"500" various configurations from which the consumer can choose. Available
with a fully upgradeable CPU, including configurations of Pentium 75, 90
and 100MHz, the Virage3 CD sports an upgradeable LCD: 10.4" DSTN or 10.4
TFT display, upgradeable enhanced IDE hard disk drive (340MB, 510MB, 810MB
and 1GB), upgradeable RAM memory (8116/24/32/40148/64) and 256K L2 cache.

As with the Virage and Virage II notebooks, users can purchase the Virage3
CD in a configuration they need today, and know the notebook can be
upgraded to support the user's growing needs for the future. In addition
to the modular design, the Virage3 CD supports the latest in portable
technology: 800 x 600 display, 32-bit PCI BUS design, Infra red port,
MPEG-1 technology, fully multimedia capable, cache, touch pad and an
optional CD-ROM module. The Virage3 CD includes a 16-bit stereo sound
card, compatible with Sound Blaster, Adlib, and the Windows Sound System,
and incorporates a microphone and two speakers. A Microsoft Windows
accelerator and 1MB of video RAM are standard. This notebook also has two
Type II or one Type III PC card slot.

The Virage3 CD notebook offers the choice of:

CPUs:  Upgradeable, detachable Intel Pentium 75, 90 and 100 MHz.

Memory:  8MB, 16MB or 32MB of RAM memory cards standard, can be configured
8/16/24/32/40/48/64MB of RAM.

Storage:  User upgradeable hard disk drives in: 340, 510, 810MB or 1GB of
storage.

Display*: Upgradeable LCD panels: 10.4" Dual Scan STN color, VGA 800 x 600,
256 Colors; 10.4" TFT Active Matrix Color LCD, VGA 640 x 480, 256 Colors

The Virage3 CD is bundled with PC 911, First Aid for Windows, AutoNav, MS
DOS 6.22, Microsoft Windows 3.11 and other productivity software. A
carrying case for the Virage3 CD notebook is also included.

Designed with a removable, full-sized 84/85 key keyboard, the layout of the
cursor keys is in an inverted "T". The Virage3 CD keyboard has 12 function
keys and dedicated Home, End, PageUp, and PageDown keys, and an embedded
numeric keypad. The notebook includes a built-in touchpad with two click
buttons.

A quick charge removable Lithium Ion (LI-ION) battery pack powers the
Virage3 CD. Battery life can be doubled with "Double-life Technology" by
adding a second battery.

Altima also offers a Virage II Docking Station and MiniDock compatible with
the Virage3 CD to provide easy and versatile desktop connectivity and
convenience. An alternative to the full Docking Station, Altima's MiniDock
offers one Type IV PCMCIA slot or two Type II or one Type III PCMCIA slot.
Additionally, the MiniDock includes connections for two serial ports, one
parallel port, a VGA monitor, one PS/2 keyboard, one PS/2 mouse, one
stereo out port, a MIDI/game port, one high density SCSI port, an AC
adapter port and a single docking station connector. The Virage II Docking
Station comes complete with one 5.25" and one 3.5" drive bays, two 16-bit
full length and one half length AT-bus slot, all I/O ports of the
MiniDock, and a PS/2 200W power supply.

The Altima Virage3 CD dimensions are 14.6"W x 8.6"D x 2.2"H. The various
models weigh: 6.8 lbs. Dual Scan STN models and 7.3 lbs. for the TFT
models. The interfaces supported by the Virage3 CD notebook include
Parallel (ECP and EPP compatible), MPEG-I, Serial, SVGA (supports up to
256 color at 1024 x 768), the PS/2 keyboard port, a MIDI game port, RCA
jack for a TV monitor and a 200-pin docking connector. Other options
available for the Virage3 CD from Altima Systems include a hard disk drive
protective bag, mouse adapter, DC car adapter, additional LI-ION battery
packs, RAM cards in 8MB, 16MB and 32MB, as well as a wide variety of PC
Card solutions.

Manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) depending on Virage3 CD
configuration start as low as $2999. The Altima Virage3 CD will be
