        Intro
*****************************************************************************
Welcome to Omen! You have downloaded a dark mysterious world of
black magik and satanic offerings, loaded with over ten new levels,
ten new weapons including spells, and ton's of new monsters and
enemies. Omen has many elements from RPG type games, such as the
aforementioned spells, experience building, and of course the dark
medieval theme common to so many of them. We like to think of Omen
as a cross between a fighting game and an RPG, all brought together
        by the glorious Quake engine!

        Installation
*****************************************************************************

This is easy. Just make a directory under your Quake directory
called 'omen'. Copy the omendemo.zip file into that directory, and
type pkunzip -d omendemo. *Do NOT use winzip* - that program sucks
and will cause errors. Then just type quake -game omen, and your
        all set.

You should have a big zip file, with lots and lots of little files.

        Report Bugs
*****************************************************************************

O.k., if you find any bugs not listed below, please report them to
me or Dave Wallin, or if you have any comments or suggestions, please
let us know. We can't put everything in that people want, but
sometimes some really great ideas wind up into our games, after
        someone suggests them.

        Known Bugs
*****************************************************************************

Here are the bugs I am aware of:

        1. Sometimes when a Drax dies, you get an error like invalid frame.

        2. In some of the larger levels, you may be able to get in certain
areas of the map, and turn only to have the sky turn gray - we
can't fix this, this is a limitation of Quake, that occurs in
levels with a lot of detail. Also, Omen is not optimized for
GLQuake, though some levels do work o.k. Most are too large and
open for GLQuake to work properly, and some are not fully vised,
because none of us owns a Cray....

        Thanx to:

Stomped.com, Blues News, Nakedmans TC list, TC Magazine, NWAC, and all
the other newsgroups who have covered any of our projects(You guys are
the best PR that anyone could have!)

Obviously Id Software, who have given us this great tool, to build and
        create worlds.

The creators of the following utilities which greatly aided this effort,
and remember this was made buy two guys is less than 3 months:

Worldcraft, Adqedit, qME, Meddle, Quest and anything else we might have
        used.

Friends, girlfriends, families, etc..the usual stuff

Gustav Taxen, for hanging in there and not getting too down about the
fate of Alien Quake, hope to work with you again soon buddy! Look
forward to your maps for the next release.

Omen is an ongoing project...we will continue to add features, such as
character classes, more spells and enemies, and we would imagine the next
release will be another major step....

        Legal Stuff
 *****************************************************************************

Read this carefully. We have had legal problems in the past and do
not want any in the future. I'm gonna keep it in terms you can
        easily understand.

Omen, is copyright and exclusive intellectual property
of it's creators, and may not be distributed or included on any CD or
any other type of media, unless it is provided free of charge, and
you have permission to do so by us.

Quake, and any textures in any of the maps or any other graphics are
copyright and property of Id Software, Inc.

Omen is a free add - on available to the public, and
may *never* be sold for profit. This is the key point - Quake add -
ons, levels, etc, should not be sold for profit, unless, they include
all new textures in their maps, and do not have anything that is the
property of Id Software, Inc. It's that simple. If someone sells
Omen, thereby infringing on Id's Copyrighted textures, you will not
only be sued by Id Software, but by us as well. So don't do it.

Lastly, this story, concept and design are not in any way related to
any movie, book or anything else, and any similarities are purely
        coincidental.
