Hiya!

This is the Eliminator Bots compatible modified DM6. This one went extremely
smoothly, and although the bots can't open the door for the lightning gun,
they can still navigate if they end up down there. C-Bot's are bigtime deadly
with a lightning gun! Otherwise, the maze is entirely accessible, with lots
of route change decisions and teleport usage. I made a waypoint set for the
entire maze and then copied it in reverse, and then interlinked the two paths.
Being such a small level, I got away easily with having the large amount of
waypoints that resulted, and the complicated travel paths add nicely to the
realism factor. There are some rather rude camping spots as well. >:->

This time there is just the .MAP file, so here's what you gotta do:

Get a program called QDTOOLS (QBSP gave me some trouble with these .MAPs,
but if you can get it to go, more power to ya!). Install it, and copy the
DM6.MAP and DM6.BSP (In your quake/id1/maps directory after you unpack the
.pak files in quake/id1/) to the QDTOOLS directory. Run QDIMPORT like:

QDIMPORT DM6.MAP DM6.BSP TEMP.BSP <-- Was getting a disk error with trying to
                                      overwrite the .bsp...

Then rename your new TEST.BSP to DM6.BSP. Copy it to your quake/elim14(or
wherever you have your Eliminator Bot progs.dat file)/maps... Run Quake like:

QUAKE -LISTEN -GAME ELIM14

Or go into multiplayer while in the game... To create a bot, type
IMPULSE 166 in the console, up to ten if you like insanity mixed with gibs.

I have had some change of heart about my efforts on E1M1, and I have decided
to release a version that doesn't modify weapon/pickup entities at all. I
have an idea or two that may negate the neccesity for the modifications, and
it would be nice to have a version that doesn't require human opponents to
all have a copy of the mod for it to work in real multiplayer games. This DM6
mod has no modifications to entities other than the waypoints, which are
transparent to client machines anyhow. Anyways, look for a nr_e1m1b.zip on
ftp.cdrom.com sometime soon!

Feel free to distribute this file, so long as it remains in it's original
archive. You may use the contents of the .MAP file to your own ends, but
please credit me if you use one or more of my ideas in your stuff. If you
have any questions on developing Eliminator Bot waypoint sets, feel free to
email me at rick@demar.agn.net. I also have a mail link at my Web page at
HTTP://WWW.AGN.NET/RDEMAR... Any comments, critisms, or questions are welcome.

Enjoy!!
