DESCRIPTION

This patch simplifies one-on-one fights: it resets your items and frags
at start, keeps track of time and offers lots of useful options, all
selectable by players.  This version is currently only server side 
therefore clients require not extra files to play.  This patch displays
a Message Of The Day when user connect to the server.  When clients
connect they have all weapons and are invulnerable which allows them to
practice and learn maps proir to their match.

INSTALLATION

   ZIPPED VERSION (Win95/NT)
	Just unzip the files contained in the archive, to folder
	off your Quake2 folder, ie extract to \quake2\Duel2000

RUNNING THE GAME

	To run the game, type the following from the DOS Shell
	command line, whilst inside your Quake2 folder:

	quake2 +set game <gamedir> +deathmatch 1 +map <mapname>
	Where <gamedir> is the folder where Duel2000 patch is located

GAMEPLAY SETTINGS

   Console Command List
		cmd <command name>
			ready			- Start duel when both clients are ready
			stop			- Stop current duel
			pause			- Pause current duel
			resume		- Resume current duel
			map <mapname>	- Change current map
			timelimit <X>	- Change duel duration
			fraglimit <Y>	- Change duel frag count
			dmflags <Z>		- Change match settings

		< > optional parameters
			X - is the duel timelimit in minutes
			Y - is the duel end frag count
			Z - is the sum of the deathmatch flags
		Deathmatch Flags
			No Health Items 		1
			No Items			2
			Weapons Stay		4
			No Falling Damage		8
			Instant Powerups		16
			Same Level			32
			Repawn Player Farthest	512
			Force Player Respawn	1024
			No Armor			2048
		To check what flags are set type: cmd dmflags
		To change flags type: cmd dmflags 1076
		This changes options to weapons stay, instant powerups,
		same level, and force player respawn.

	Message Of The Day (MOTD)
		The server dispays a MOTD a clients.  The MOTD is read
		from the "motd.txt" file in the game directory.  
		This allows server ops to add customise MOTD to their
		Duel2000 servers.

	Duel Match logfile
		The server keeps a record of match results in a file
		which is in the game directory.  The filename is
		'logfile.txt'.

CONSOL VARIABLES

	Server Admin 
		showlogo 0/1 - Show Duel2000 Logo When clients connect
				   NOTE: Clients need local files and are
					   not required for this version.
