Description : Second map in my new quake episode using custents.
This file contains the sop2.bsp that continues the
quest for the SoP...**NOTE this map needs the first
pak of maps and files to work (sopv1.zip). Future
maps in the episode will follow.
================================================================

**NOTE** there is a full walkthrough including secrets and such at the bottom of this
text, but read it ONLY if you get stuck or need help, otherwise it ruins the
	 gameplay!

**NOTE** You must have the files included in sopv1.zip for this map to work. Also, this map
continues on from Ogre Island (the first map included in sopv1.zip) so you should play
that map first then continue into this map...otherwise the gameplay will be messed up
	 (with weapons/ammo and such).

**BUGS** Ok, since i have been pushing the quake engine to its limits, there is a minor bug in
this level that i couldn't avoid. In the big fan room, there is a giant fan that
rotates. I used rotating brushes for that thanks to the custents qc. But when I
vis'ed the level at full, you dont see the fan sometimes from certain angles. There
is just too much going on for the quake 1 engine to handle. I've tried fooling around
with this a bit but couldn't get it any better than this, especially since my computer
is a heap of crap and it takes eons just to select a brush when editing a big level.
So after much frustration, I decided to release the level like this anyways. I hope
	  you enjoy it =).

**NOTE** In this map, there is a health machine that heals you to full health when you use it.
This is the ONLY source of health in this whole level...so you will have to visit it
many times during your playing...remeber this!

* Story * (There is an intro demo that explains this too)!

You are a mercenary. Businesses hire you to do undercover, dangerous
and sometimes illegal missions for them. You have just accepted a new mission from
a Mr. Johnson (as he wishes to be called). There is a legend of a source of power
that is supposedly located within a remote chain of islands. This source of power
is said to give out extreme amounts of energy. Whoever controls it could become very
powerfull indeed. Mr. Johnson wishes for you to search for this power source and if
possible, return it to him. But there is also word of another group of mecenaries
that is searching for this source. This group has already (supposedly) installed
themselves throughout these islands in search for the same source of power. This
group is skilled, experienced and uses advanced technology. Mr. Johnson doesn't care
if you must kill members of this group as long as you beat them to the Source. The
islands where this source is suppose to be located are remote and unknown to most people.
They are basically a legend, as is the Source of Power, but they have been located by this
other group, and Mr. Johnson has arranged for a boat to take you there. But first, you must
sneak into one of this other group's secret labs where they have important information about
some stone symbols that could help you on your quest (In the game, go to the help menu to review
these symbols and their meanings). After obtaining this information, the boat will take you to
the first of the islands....Ogre Island. You will continue on through the islands until you
find this SoP. Good Luck.

* Other notes *

I am currently making a Quake 1 total conversion. The team I belong to that is making
this TC and others is called Qparts. The TC we are making right now is Pirate Quake. It's a
ctf-stlye game and you are pirates. Instead of flags to capture...there is treasure and the
levels are full of pirate ships and tropical islands. Other cool stuff in it includes different
pirate classes, an inventory system, all new weapons and models and items, and personal gold to
collect to use to buy stuff from a shopkeeper. We are almost ready to release it, but head over
to our web site to look at the detailed descriptions and screenshots at:
http://members.tripod.com/~Junks/Qparts/

* Walkthrough! ** !!!read on only if you are stuck or need help with the secrets!!!

Ok, well at first, you drift up to the island on that raft you found on Ogre Island. Now
remember, YOU CAN'T TOUCH THE WATER BECAUSE OF THOSE ELECTRIC BRACELOTS, so dont jump
in the water just yet. Once you arrive at the shore, walk over to the computer machine.
It will ask you to enter a name and password to destroy all electrical bracelots in the area
..but you don't have that of course. SO, look in that window and shoot the target across the
room. This button opens the inside part of that computer. Now shoot that wire to backpass the
password and destroy your bracelots. NOW you can safely go into the water. Under the water
there is an entrance to the inside of this exploration camp built into the island. These guys
must have been looking here for a while to build this...don't you think? Anyways, once inside
you will find a health machine that heals you completly every time you enter it. This is the
only source of health on this island, so remember to return to this machine when in need of
health. Heal yourself then go press that falshy red button on the wall. This will open an
otherwise invisible door. Walk through the door and enter some sort of mechanical base room.
Once you go down the lifts, the lights turn out...big surprise...there is a button on the wall
that restores the lights and opens a door across the room. Go through there and into a storage
area. Once ontop of the crates...dont jump down onto the other side right away. Look to the
left and jump onto that crate that is on the far left..then move back into that dark space and
viola! Secret #1 is the QUAD DAMMAGE!!! After passing through there you will see a door that
needs the silver key, and the silver key is right there but blocked by a force field. So try to
find a generator so you can turn this force field off. Pass through another storage area.
Now in here, once you go up the lift and kill those enforcers, you can jump around on the
crates to reach that armor where the enforcers were..and viola! Secret #2!!!
Go up the lift. There you will find a power generator. But you need a password for this too.
So shoot open that white control panel on it and shoot the wires inside...this again will
override the system and turn off the force field..BUT...it also malfunctions and turns off all
the lights in the room you just came from. So you will need to find another way back to the
silver key. Continue forward onto a lift that will take you up and back to that mechanical base
room. Return for health if you need it now...since you are close...then continue on to the
silver key. Once you get the key...they will have fixed the light power so you can go back into
that room if you wish. Now open that door with the silver key and continue through a hall and up
a ramp. But watch out for that crate that the guy pushes down at you! That could hurt! Then
go out into an open mountainy area where a big closed door is on the ground. Go up that lift by
pressing the button and walk over to that rotating fan. Carefull as the fan will push you off
the ledge...but you need to get by that to get to that cave opening on the other side. So
maybe if you find a way to stop all the fans..you can walk by...hmmm. Okay, press that button on
the wall to open that big door in the ground...go on the lift that comes up through the opening
and decend into the dark underground. Now, look at those 4 light posts on that platform on the
bottom. One side of a post is a different color..hmm..shoot that and voila! Secret #3 is the
rocket launcer that is in a room that opens up. Grab that and continue. Next you will come into
a room with a giant fan..carefull, if you get in its suction, you are chop liver. Now this is
tricky. Since the fan is pulling you towards it..and the button that switches the fan direction
is on the other side if the room...you have to avoid that fan suction. Ok, walk down the stairs
and walk up against the wall farthest from the fan. Now run across the room against that wall.
The fan will start to suck you in, but as long as you keep running across the room...you will
get there before the fan sucks you all the way into its spinning shards! Now press the button
and wait for the fan to change direction...now it will push you away...by the way..any guesses
as to where the inspiration for this giant fan came from? You guessed it..Jackie Chan's
Operation Condor 1!!! Ok..now the fan will push you away and into a little cubby with a
control station. Pull the lever to stop ALL fans. Now go up and through the big fan and jump
into a vent shaft. This will push you (stay still as you go through it) into a vent room.
Take the lift up and you are again, back in that mechanical base room. Now make your way back
to the cave door that the fan originally pushed you away from (the fan is now stopped of course)
and go in there. Decend into the depths of the island and finish the level....hope you had fun!
