The Core!
v. 3.0

This is my first completed Quake level. Mostly used to test and toy around
with an editor (WorldCraft) it does employ teleporters and is configured for
the different skill levels and deathmatches. It is not configured for
capture the flag.

Basic Description:

The Core is a small "level" that comes in two cylindrical pieces: Outside
and Inside. Finding the three ways inside (all by transporters) is a
"secret." Outside breaks up into two pieces: bottom and top and Inside
 consists of: bottom, top, landings.

Unique Features:

This level employs a simple "two destination" setup for teleporters. Not all
faces of a transporter support this and remembering which side of what
teleporter will provide the short cut you want can be tricky. All
teleporters have "default" actions. These "default" actions happen unless
you start experimenting (hint: jumping...?)

[Developer note: This feature is nothing more than overlaying
teleport_triggers in different arrangements inside the visible border of the
teleporter. Nothing tricky about that. Remember that narrow teleporter
triggers may not "catch" before the player reaches the default teleporter
 action.]

Miscellaneous:

When Core is loaded it will dump two or monsters from the game. Because
Quake's coordinates and WorldCraft's seem to be a bit off I decided it
wouldn't be worth trying to find and fix these. If the "level" wasn't as
narrow in places I don't think this would have happened.  Don't worry though;
there are more than enough monsters to go around.

I did find that changing machines sometimes changed the number of items that
would drop from the game. I don't know if this was a) really happening,
b) due to damaged Quake binaries, or c) other. It all worked on my machine.
 :+)

Of late, I have recompiled it with a leak proof outer cylinder and run extra
LIGHT and full rVIS. I also added a key and level exit with is chained to
my new, larger level called ThePit.

Enjoy the level. I'll be building a few more and you should be able
to find them at:
