Add-on for Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition

ABOUT THIS FILE

This file contains some information regarding this updated version of JJ Duke.

NOTES ABOUT THIS VERSION

This version of JJ Duke is a special version 1.01a without an installation program,
plus it is compressed with PKZip (makes the files 300k bigger than the RARed version).
People have contacted me asking about a Macintosh version of JJ Duke as the previous
version, Version 1.01 was only installable on the PC. This version is usable on both
systems.

NOTES ABOUT PLAYING ON THE MAC

Because Macs can't use PC EXEs, here are the instructions for playing JJ Duke on the
Mac. On the PC, the command line to start the addon is this:

   DUKE3D /xJJGAME.CON /gJJDUKE.GRP /gJJDUKEAD.GRP

I don't own a Mac myself so I don't know whether it has a command prompt or something
so you may have to do something special to start the game with these parameters. Sorry,
I don't know how to help you more.

The Adult content of the addon can be disabled permanently if you require by removing
the JJDUKEAD.GRP file. If you remove this file, you don't need to include
'/gJJDUKEAD.GRP' on the command line. To temporarily disable the adult content, don't
include '/gJJDUKEAD.GRP' on the command line.

NOTE TO VERSION 1.4 OWNERS

Firstly, you should try upgrading your version of Atomic Duke to 1.5 by visiting
3D Realms' web site, going to 'Our Games' and selecting 'Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition'.
Click on 'Downloads' and download the ppack15.zip archive from their site.
Patch the game with this and it fixes a few compatibility issued that existed with
version 1.4.

The reasoning behind a version 1.4 compatibility option for the PC version of Duke
Atomic was that Jason used to have version 1.4 of Atomic Duke and it couldn't
handle having art in the GRP files (don't ask me why). If you have the problem
of no special art appearing on the Mac and you have Version 1.4 (if there is a version
1.4 of Duke on the Mac) then you'll have to extract the art files from BOTH GRP files
to see the new art. If you can see the modified art OK then please ignore the previous
paragraph! PC users who have 1.4 and have problems with art can use the 'Version 1.4
Compatibility' in the game launcher.

PC users may use the JJDUKE.EXE program to play normally.

After reading all this, open up JJREADME.TXT and read that file as well.

Happy Duking
