Misc. Author Info : I hope this is the last revision of my
first level, Hawkeye. Although I did not use EditArt, I tried
to use BUILD to make some art of my own. I hope you enjoy
the map as much as I did making it.

Other Levels : None. Maybe something smaller, next year.
                        But first, I want to learn more about using BUILD.

Description : This is a very big level, maybe too big by some
standards, but with lots of monsters & special effects. Duke is digging
some vibes when enemy agents locate his transporter signal and show up in
his office. Duke traces the connection back to the alien base, hidden
in a series of canyons, caves, and ancient temples. Earth Defense
Intelligence tells Duke that the base is being used as the energy source
and command center for an alien spy remote-viewing system. Duke fights
his way through several mysterious energy generator complexes until he
arrives at the Command Center. Good luck. You'll need it.

Additional Credits To : All praises to 3D Realms.
Special thanks to Bob Masters and the makers of the many tutorials that
I used, especially: Tyler Matthews, Jonah Bishop, Brett Gmoser,
Klaus Breuer, Steffen Itterheim, Allen H. Blum III, Richard Gray,
and all the map-makers, and all the Duke web sites. Whew.
Many thanks to the whole pantheon. My daughter contributed some
creative ideas too.

* Play Information *

Single Player          : Yes
DukeMatch 2-8 Player   : No
Cooperative 2-8 Player : No
Difficulty Settings : Not implemented, but watch your back!
                         There are some nasty traps.

Plutonium Pak Required : I used the Atomic Edition with
Plutonium Pak to make the game.

New Art : Some original art, but not by
                          using EditArt.  BUILD has great
                          possibilities for 3D sculpture.
New Music               : No
New Sound Effects       : No
New .CON Files          : No

* Construction *

Base : New level from scratch
Level Editor(s) Used : BUILD Atomic Plutonium
Art Editor(s) Used     : None

Construction Time : Unknown. Maybe about 100
hours, maybe more, spread out over a year, including
learning time, but probably not including all the hours
during which I tried to think of what to do next.

Known Bugs/Problems : Some of the scenes are
perhaps too large and/or complicated and might
run slow on non-Pentium machines. Otherwise, no
bugs, but please let me know if you find any.
I had trouble when I parallaxed the sky: BUILD deleted
a lot of sector tags. The lesson learned is to
parallax early in the construction process, before
adding sector tags. I think I got it all fixed.
Parallaxed skies can look totally bizzare in BUILD,
but it will look great in the game.One last thing,
if you are new at ysing BUILD, it has some real strange
bugs in it, so test your map frequently while making it,
and make backup copies in case you do something really
bad, like deleting a sector by joining all its points
together.
