Title : Temple of the Great Beetle
Filename : vwtmpl.MAP
Author : Edward "Scorpion" Davis
Email Address : ebd@utk.edu
Misc. Author Info : I'm a Geology major at the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville. I enjoy working on VW
Beetles, and this level is an homage to my 1970
Beetle that was stolen in Spring of 1996.

Description : ****This map will NOT run well in single player or
cooperative mode on a 486/66 with only 8Mb of
			  RAM. I tried. Sorry.****

This map is intended to represent the Temple
of the followers of the Great Beetle. It has
been taken over by the alien invaders, just
as all of the rest of earth has.
The trick to the level in single player is
keeping enough ammo to defeat the cycloid
emperor at the end. Also, finding the
Devestator Weapon hidden under the temple
triggers the spawn of the Cycloid emperor,
and some people have difficulty finding its
			  hidden room.
Dukematches tend to center around the
"seminar room" to the east of the main temple,
because the RPG and Shrinker are in the
restrooms there. Be sure to notice the
			  handicapped acessable toilets =)
See the WWW temple of the great beetle at
				http://funnelweb.utcc.utk.edu/~ebd/beetle.html
			  you'll be glad you did.

Additional Credits to : VW of America for providing us with those wonderful
little cars for so many years, and those great guys
at 3DRealms for bringing us DUKE3D. And my parents
for buying me a pentium PC. =)

* Play Information *

Episode and Level # : E1M1 I guess. I spliced it into my user.con file at
E1M11, but you can put it wherever you want.
Single Player : Yes, but not well on a 486 unless it's FAST!
DukeMatch Level : Yes, definitely. Hours of fun. Not too big, not to
			  small.
Difficulty Settings : Yes. It is really, really hard on hard, just from
the numbers of troopers. My P100 with 16Mb RAM
			  slows down.

* Construction *

Base : New level from scratch
Editor(s) used : Run of the mill BUILD editor that came with DUKE3D.
Known Bugs : You can get crushed by the doors in some places,
			  especially the start up room.

Other: When I wrote this the only place to get it was at my web site at
			http://funnelweb.utcc.utk.edu/~ebd/
       or my friend Aaron's at
			http://www.people.memphis.edu/~uacgwin/
If you got it someplace else, please e-mail me at ebd@utk.edu
I'd just like to know where my little level has gotten to.
