P is a file transfer package by Jyrki Salmi

            Internet: jytasa@jyu.fi
            FidoNet: Jyrki Salmi (2:225/12)

and is part public domain and part freeware (with rights granted
to distribute -- see the included P documentation for details).

As you know, PCBoard/2 is without zmodem. At first, I used a
zmodem package that seemed to do pretty well, until I had an upload.
The package I had been using was working up a big sweat over nothing,
leaving no idle time. It worked well enough for sending files, but
for receiving files it pegged my pulse meter (I use AWACS).

P solves that problem. Idle time is almost the same as if nothing
is running, for sends and receives. P also has a few more interesting
options, one being the priority at which to run (I use class 2, level 1).

I've included the pcbrz.cmd and pcbsz.cmd files that I use currently
(remove the leading underscrore it you plan on using them). There's
probably some customizing that each sysop will want to do, so go over
the P.DOC file and change these as you need.

If you want to get AWACS, call the 40th Floor BBS at 1-210-684-8065
(Texas), or check out http://www.40th.com, in the OS/2 section. This
package lets you monitor your system (swap file size/used (accurate),
memory stats, working set requirements, a CPU pulse, and even a caller
ID log that works even with PCBoard running (it's not a PPE or even
PCBoard related). It a real-time system state monitor. Outputs to
an MDA mono display or to a PM desktop window (or both). AWACS352.ZIP
is current as of this writing. Other stuff, too.
