MICE OR MODEMS

External synthesizers, like the Accent SA or Audaptor, may conflict
with a mouse or a modem if they are installed to use the same COM
port or IRQ. Just move the mouse or the modem or the synthesizer
to another port that does not already have something on it. You
have to use either com1 or com2 for the synthesizer. Internal
synthesizers may also conflict (anything is possible) so if you
experience a problem then remove the mouse or modem or both until
you can figure it out.

We have had problems with the DECtalk Express and the software that is
shipped with it. When using the DECtalk Express, some systems become
extremely sluggish. JFW may load but fail to speak. If you suspect
that the software may be your problems, the file DTEXPDOC.ZIP may be
of some assistance to you. It contains files and documentation that
will resolve conflicts with your com ports. After you have logged onto
the BBS, join the JFW conference and type "D DTEXPDOC.ZIP". Our BBS
phone number is 813-528-8903. The files have been compressed using a
program called PKZIP which is also available on our BBS.
