BBSeqF v1.2 Readme file
=======================

About BBSeqF
============

BBSeqF is a windows program that aids you in converting sequence
files from one format to another. BBSeqF will be primarily useful to
molecular biologists that use various programs to analyse there
sequences, where the different programs require the sequence in
different formats from one another. The formats that are converted
are GCG, GenePro, PIR, FASTA and plain text sequence files.

You can edit and print files from within BBSeqF, as well as print
preview them. BBSeqF supports drag and drop of files, so you can
select files in file manager and drop them into BBSeqF.

You can contact me via email at 'bbabb@medmicro.uct.ac.za'. I would
be greatful to hear what you like/dislike about BBSeqF and what
corrections need to be made.

Disclaimer
==========

You use BBSeqF completely at your own risk.

Copyright etc
=============

You are free to copy and distibute BBSeqF as you wish under the proviso
that you distribute the entire package (BBSeqF.exe, bbseqf.hlp, README.TXT
and FILE_ID.DIZ) and that you do so for no charge.

Installation
============

Create a directory for the files, eg. C:\BBseqf and unzip all the files
to this directory. In windows, use the program manager to create a new
group file (File|New|Group) called MolBiol. In the MolBiol group, add a
new file item (File|New|Item) with the command line
	'c:\bbseqf\bbseqf.exe'

Using BBSeqf
============

Double click on the BBSeqF icon in the MolBiol group. An empty desktop
appears. You can then open existing sequence files or create new
ones. If you open a GCG file, for example, you can conver it to
GenePro format by picking the menu item Convert|from GCG|to GenePro.
A new window opens with the reformated data. Simply save the new file
with an appropriate name.

Hopefully it will all be obvious when you try it. There is an attached help
file for further information...
