 BACKARDS V2.5 * THE BACKWARDS TALKER * Copyright (C)1995 J.B. Langston III

INTRODUCTION

BACKARDS * THE BACKWARDS TALKER is a program that takes input from the user
and (duh) turns it backwards. If you have a Sound Blaster with SBTALKER, or
some other Text-To-Speech software that can be invoked from the command line,
the backwards phrase will be pronounced as well as printed on the screen.

SETUP

Copy your DOS-based text-to-speech software into the directory where BACKARDS
is located (or vice versa). If you do not have any text-to-speech software,
just load BACKARDS as is, and it will work just fine, although you will not
hear the phrase pronounced.

NOTE: This software is designed to use SBTALKER from Creative Labs; however,
if you have different dos-based text-to-speech software and think you are a
brain at batch files, you can edit the files BACKARDS.BAT and READTEMP.BAT to
run your software instead of SBTALKER. (It may or may not work).

OPERATION

After you've correctly set up the program as outlined above, type BACKARDS if
you have SBTALKER or BACKARDZ if you don't. The program will start. Follow
the onscreen instructions and have fun!

NOTE: If you type BACKARDS and get a message about SBTALKER not being found,
it is either because you insist on typing BACKARDS instead of BACKARDZ when
you don't have SBTALKER or you didn't copy SBTALKER to the directory where
BACKARDS is located. Either way, you didn't do what I said to, and it's all
your fault!

If you get a kick out of my program, I would really appreciate your sending
me a post card so I can see how far my program has spread. Hey, it's not
too much to ask. I've seen lots of programs crappier than mine whose authors
actually expect you to pay MONEY for them!
