Welcome to AIRCOMM

Introduction

AIRCOMM is a registered non-profit organization with the vocation of
promoting regrouping individuals who share the common experience of op-
erating and confronting each other with real time aircraft maneuvering
simulations.

If you own a computer, have a modem and enjoy commercially available
flight simulation software which support modem connections, then come
and discovers some now fellow pilots...join AIRCOMM and experience the
thrills of dogfighting while sitting in the comfort of your home.

What is AIRCOMM

For those who which to compete against others, AIRCOMM is host of the
Montreal Area Ladder non-stop challenge competitions. For several years
now, this is where FALCON fighter pilots meet by challenging each other
with the hope of reaching the number one TOP GUN position.

Instructors are standing by for those who which to get started with the ex-
perience of high speed flight with some of the world most respected modern
jet fighters.

Come satisfy your childhood dream by moving along and learning to fly the
F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F/A-18 Hornet or the MIG-29 Fulcrum. Come and
experience how fighter pilots survive in hostile military campaign environ-
ments. Come and learn the tactics of offensive and defensive BFM (Basic
Flight Maneuvering).

The AIRCOMM Club offers its members a varied range of products and
services via its local Bulletin Board System (BBS). Montreal and local area
members now have an inexpensive access to Shareware or Freeware prod-
ucts, services and flight simulation related software fixes and patches while
not having to sign-up to an otherwise expensive Network. If its public do-
main and if it has to do with flight simulations, AIRCOMM aims at bringing
it to its members.

The AIRCOMM BBS

The BBS is a modem dial-in communication facility available 24 hours a
day, seven days a week. Its graphic user interface (GUI) is either ANSI or
WINDOWS based. By default, new members should dial-in via the ANSI
interface to make the primary arrangements with the BBS SYSOP (Systems
Operator).

The WINDOWS GUI is a software kit obtained on the BBS via the ANSI
access. You simply download the kit to your computer and install it as an
application in your WINDOWS environment. After starting your WIN-
DOWS based BBS access system, you then make the necessary customiza-
tions and call back to get your final BBS configuration files. From there on,
the BBS and its AIRCOMM section is a joy to discover!!!

How to join the Club

If you came this far then you already made the first step. YOU HAVE OUR
NUMBER!

If you want to get involved as a pilot in command flight in a military simula-
tor pilot career, then leave your name, address and coordinates to the BBS
SYSOP.

After sending in your fees to the AIRCOMM secretary, you will get full
privileges to the BBS services and its activities.

Fees and Deliverables

The BBS operations and the AIRCOMM Club activities, services and deliv-
erables require a minimum cash flow. This may be a non-profit club but
bills do have to be paid on a monthly basis.

For its first year of operations, the Club has fixed its annual fee at
$30.00/per member. This may seem much at first but look at it from another
perspective...where else will you get all that your getting via the AIRCOMM
BBS for just $2.50 a month!!! Consider that access to commercial Networks
can cost at least $10.00 a month (plus the phone bills!). And if you fly with
modem buddies across the country via these Networks your looking be-
tween $20 to $40/per month.

At AIRCOMM your flying local, with local people, and you have access to
the same public domains data that is available on those commercial Net-
works. Think about it...its worth the $30.00 a year! But that isn't all. At
AIRCOMM we want to be fair with our members. Our fees will undergo
reviews every year to make sure that your getting the best for your money.

Your fees include:

a) Documentation and help for BBS operations and instructions,
b) Rules and regulations documentation for the Montreal Area Ladder
    Competitions,
c) Access to FALCON flight Instructors who will help you get up and run-
ning with your BBS operations and modem game connections,
d) Membership card (we will be working to make sure this membership
cards will give you the possibility of getting discounts in specialize
     computer hardware/software stores).
e) Access to the Montreal SIM Pilot data base. This is also your passport to
meeting other pilots and making new friends.
f) We also plan on getting a coat patch or cap made up with the AIRCOMM
   logo...

A logo !?! ...Yes, a logo. AIRCOMM isn't just a Club of flying fanatics, its
also a Squadron; The "ESQUADRILLE 514 SQUADRON". And if you
have the gusto of becoming a fighter pilot, then you too can be part of this
squadron!

The Comity

AIRCOMM is also a Comity formed mostly by active pilots who look after
the interests of the Club. This Comity monitors and regulates the ladder
competitions, looks after the Clubs needs, plans gatherings and meetings for
its members and organizes friendly competitions and events while keeping
the spirits high amongst club members.
