                         *** Welcome to IconDOS ***

     >>> AUTOMATED INSTALL <<<

     The install can be performed from any drive/directory location.

     - Type   :    <drive>:INSTALL [ENTER]

       Example:    A:INSTALL [ENTER]

     >>> QUICKSTART <<<

     A demo menu has been provided to help you get a feel for IconDOS.

     - Type: ICONDOS DEMO for an immediate demo

     >>> DOCUMENTATION <<<

     Documentation is provided on disk in hypertext format.

     - Type:  DOCS [ENTER]

     The documentation is stored in compressed, self-extracting format
     (IDOCS.EXE and EDOCS.EXE). These files are automatically extracted
     to temporary hard drive storage as needed. DO NOT manually
     execute/extract IDOCS.EXE or EDOCS.EXE unless you prefer to waste
     several hundred kilobytes of disk space.

     >>> REGISTRATION <<<

     Users who register (only $24.95) will receive the following:

     - A legal, licensed copy of the software for continued use.
       The licensed version is free of delays or "Unlicensed" messages.

     - Printed documentation.

     - An expanded library of 500 ready to use icons.

     - Additonal utilities including a utility to convert Microsoft Window's
       .ICO icon files to IconDOS format.

     See ORDER.FRM for details.

   Ŀ
    The following is only applicable to users of versions prior to 2.5

     >>> ICONVERT.EXE <<<

     The improvements made in ver. 2.5 made it necessary to expand the
     icon menu file format. We would have preferred not to do this but
     such is the price of progress. A conversion utility, ICONVERT.EXE,
     has been provided to convert ver. 2.0 menus to the new 2.5 format.

     >>> BATCH FILES <<<

     The new Setup/Launch pad can perform a simple launch of most
     application software without the assistance of a batch file.
     Sophisticated batch files developed for ver. 2.0 can still be used
     with one modification. REMOVE the lines at the end of the file
     which restore the desktop. These lines wshould look something like
     this:
                           CD\ICONDOS
                           ICONDOS mymenu

     IconDOS now restores the desktop automatically.
