  P13SETUP.EXE- configuration file editor/creator

All configuration options are now set in this editor. The only thing you
will have to do outside of this editor is create a batch file to run the
game. I recommend that you not edit the configuration file manually.

Tut's current configuration values, stored in P13TT.CFG, are loaded in as
the defaults, so you don't have to re-enter the configuration items that
you do not need to change.

There are help boxes that pop-up when you select an item to change. Some
of these boxes also have options for you to choose from, such as colors.

You can run the editor as often as you like, and whenever you want. The
changes you make will take effect the next time Pyramid 13 is run.

 Ŀ
  Communications set-up

Many systems will not need to change any of these settings. Tut is pretty
good about detecting and using a standard configuration set-up. If you do
not have a "standard" set-up, these options should have you up and going
in no-time. (does it make you nervous when you hear that?)

 Communications options:

<1> Locked baud rate Here you will enter the baud rate at which you
[default- 0] want your computer to modem speed locked at. If
your drop file supplies it, you should not need
                          it here.

<2> Comport For the BBS's that do not supply the comport in
[default- 0] their drop file, you can denote it here. Simply
plug in the port number. If you find that one
node locks up another node, this may fix it.

<3> Fossil driver info You have three choices to enter here...
[default- INTERNAL] INTERNAL- Tut will use his own internal comport
                                    handlers.
FOSSIL - This will cause the use of a fossil
port driver with speeds UP TO 38,400.
XFOSSIL - This option will cause Tut to employ
the use of the extended fossil driver
speeds in both X00 or BNU. This will
support speeds of 57,800 or higher.

<4> Port1 Hex If you must use a non-standard IRQ, Tut can be
  <5> Port1 IRQ configured for use with IRQ's 0 - 15. The port#
<6> Port2 Hex indicates the comport at issue, enter the port
<7> Port2 IRQ address in hexadecimal, and the IRQ in decimal.
<8> Port3 Hex For an example: if comport 3 is at IRQ 15 and
<9> Port3 IRQ address $03E8 was needed use the following:
  <A> Port4 Hex Port 3 Hex = 03E8, Port 3 IRQ = 15.
  <B> Port4 IRQ
      [defaults- Ports STD, IRQ's 0]

<ENTER> Main menu [ENTER] will return you to the main menu.

 Ŀ
  System settings

Here are some items that the game needs to work effectively.

<1> SysOp first name We'll start off easy, this should be YOUR
[default- Joe] first name. Used for local mode play.

<2> SysOp last name Increasing difficulty a little, enter YOUR
[default- Sysop] last name here. Also used for local play.

<3> BBS drop file type A list of the supported drop files, and an
[default- DOORSYS] example of related BBS software will pop-up
when you select this option. Pick the drop
file that Tut should get his user data and
system information from and enter it here.

<4> Monochrome screen Selecting ON here will disable color output
[default- OFF] to the local screen. This is only necessary
if you are using a monochrome monitor.

<5> Status bar This controls whether or not you want the
[default- ON] status bar displayed on the local screen.
I do not know why you wouldn't, but here is
                              the option just in case.

<6> DORINFO ANSI if 1 sent Tells Tut to select ANSI graphics when a 1
[default- OFF] is passed in the graphics parameter of the
DORINFOx.DEF file. From what I understand,
Force and QuickBBS require this option set
                              but RBBS should not.

<7> ANSI Bulletin If you would like to have scores bulletins
<8> Mono Bulletin exported, put the paths and filenames here.
[defaults- (none)] You need to enter the FULL path WITH drive,
                              and the filename WITH extension.
                              Example: C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\BULLET12.ANS
If this is left blank, no bulletins will be
                              created.
<9> Pause code If you opt to export scores bulletins, you
[default- (none)] will want to enter the code that your BBS
uses to keep the ANSI screens from pausing
                              here. Example: TriBBS uses "@MOREOFF@".

<ENTER> Main menu [ENTER] will return you to the main menu.

 Ŀ
  Game options

Now we get to the meat and potatoes of the game. Here before you, sit the
options that allow you to make the game play the way YOU want it to play.
If you want high scores, set the number of hands per day at 3, the number
of rounds to 2, and the max hands to 10, this is the default and should
produce high scores of over 1,000,000. If you prefer a quite competitive
match with lower scores, set it to 2 hands per day, 1 round per hand, and
5 hands max. This will decrease the amount of time spent in the game and
should produce winning scores of under 500,000.

<1> Hands per day The number of hands each player will start the
[default- 3] day with. Winning free hands will increase the
number of hands they will play.

<2> Max hands per day This is the _MAXIMUM_ number of hands that you
[default- 10] will allow your users to play every day. When
they reach this number, there will be no more
                           free hands given out.

<3> Rounds per hand This is the number of times the player will be
[default- 2] allowed to go through the deck each hand. The
more rounds they have, the better the chances
are that they will win the game.

<4> Extra days This is the number of make up and play ahead
[default- 3] days you will allow your players to play each
day. After each days play, when available, the
player will be asked if they want to make up a
missed day, this will regulate the number of
days that the players will be able to make up.

<5> Play-ahead day start The day that the players will be able to start
[default- 20] playing days in advance. If you leave this set
for the 20th of the month, the players will be
able to start playing ahead on the 20th of the
month. If you wish to disable play ahead days,
enter a 31 here. This comes in very handy if a
player is scheduled to be gone on the last few
days of the month, they can play out the month
                           before they leave.

<6> Keep a log file? If you want to keep a running log file of game
[default- N] activity, enter Y here. The time and date that
the players enter and exit will be logged. The
name of the text file created is USER.LOG.

<7> Tournament mode? This option tells Tut whether or not to deal
[default- Y] the same card layout to each player. If a Y is
selected, the tournament mode option is turned
on. This requires all the players to use their
card playing skills rather than depending on a
"lucky" deal. It will also force them to take
un-normal risks if all players have low scores
for that day when they enter the game.

<8> Maximum time in game If you would like, you can put a limit on the
[default- 0] amount of time the players can be in the game.
Tut will treat this as the amount of time till
disconnect, and will shutdown when it expires.
Enter 0 here for no time limit. (recommended)

<9> Main color This is the primary game color, this includes
[default- 6] the main play screen frame, the score screen,
daily champs screen, and the menus.

<A> Card back color This is the color of the card backs. The frame
[default- 1] on the card will be the bright version of the
                           color you select.

<B> Card back message Here you can put in the initials of your BBS,
[default- TUT] or anything else you want including characters
from the extended ASCII set. Use ALT+ the code
                           to use these.

<ENTER> Main menu [ENTER] will return you to the main menu.

 Ŀ
  etc.

After making the changes, you should [S]ave set-up from the main menu, if
you make some changes, then try to [Q]uit without saving, the editor will
prompt you to save the changes before quitting.

  Epilog

Well... you should now be ready to get the game on-line. There is nothing
special about the set-up and operation of Tut's Treasure, so you should
not experience any major difficulties. If you do, you are very welcome to
contact me for assistance. Something gives me the feeling that you won't
register if you can't get it to work, so I will gladly help! You can also
contact me for your comments, suggestions, kudos, flaming, or if you just
wanna say howdy.

Hope you enjoy it, and REALLY hope you register!
