UPGRADE.DOC THE CELLAR DOOR MODS 9405

This file has all the information you need if you are UPGRADING from
the previous CDOR mods - CDOR9404. If you are upgrading from any
other version you must review CDOOR.DOC and INSTALL.DOC to upgrade
your system. If this is a first time installation, you should do
the same. This file is ONLY for UPGRADING from the LAST VERSION of
the CDOR MODS!

Changes:

 1. The prompt for leaving the sysop a message after an unanswered page has
been changed to follow the same manner as leaving a comment as a message
in a subboard or conference. In otherwords, if you do not allow comments
in subboards with CONFIG #341 and the caller is NOT in MAIN, then they
will be told they cannot leave a message in that conference with
    RBBS-PC.LNG line number 44.

 2. Check CONFIG #332 and set for your preference. If set to YES, then
your BBS will display the current menu (MAIN, FILE or UTIL) each time
a caller presses ENTER at the command prompt.

 3. You may now use SmartText characters in the names of files listed in the
WELCOME.LST and EPILOG.LST files. For example:

        C:\RBBS\TEXT\LASTON{ND

will show LASTON1 for node 1 and LASTON2 for node 2.

 4. Check CONFIG #122 and CONFIG #221. These two options control how the
system will log on a local caller. If CONFIG #122 is set to YES, then
when the ESC key is pressed while RBBS is waiting for calls the SYSOP
will be logged on locally. If you have CONFIG #221 set to COM0, then
the SYSOP will be logged on locally IF CONFIG #122 is YES. Otherwise,
the BBS will behave as normal, asking any local caller their name and
password before logging them on. If you have a LOCAL node just for you,
then you may want to try setting CONFIG #122 to YES and try it out.

 5. The NOTHANX.DEF mod has been added back in. This file should be listed
in the DIR subdirectory and in it, list all the extensions of files you
do not want to allow to be uploaded:

    .TIF
    .TXT
    .DOC

If you decide to use the NOTHANX.DEF mod, then you do not need to use
    the UPEXT.DEF mod and vice-versa.

 6. Check CONFIG #283 - Skip Conference Mail Check at Log on for all your
MAIN RBBSxPC.DEF and *C.DEF subboard config files. What this option
does is give you the feature of asking the caller if they would like
to check conferences in a subboard for mail just like they are
prompted when first logging on for conferences below MAIN. This option
is good for systems which have subboards with more conferences below
    them.

 7. Note that the UTIL command U to display R)ecent callers has been
changed to give a formatted display. Previously, when the sysop would
use this command, the sysop would see the same display as when pressing
the sysop 2 command. Since this was redundant, only the sysop 2
command will show ALL caller activity for recent callers while the
UTIL U R)ecent callers command only shows the name, city/state and
    time of the callers.

 8. If you compile your own mods, please note that two new .BAS files have
been added - RBBSSUB7.BAS and RBBSSUB8.BAS and 1 file has been deleted -
SYSOP8.BAS. Nothing not mentioned in this file has been done with sysop8,
it simply has been combined into the RBBSSUB7 and 8 files which consist
    of FILE system related functions.
