and rockwell based voice modems.

version 0.02

This version is ShareWare. You can register this program by sending $10, in

Please send me your bug reports and include as much information on your system
setup as possible. And don't hesitate, even if you find a typo or misspelled
word in one of the dialogs, let me know.

I developped and tested ANSWER.EXE on the following system:

- OS/2 2.11 (2.1 with CSD applied)

- 12 MBytes of RAM

- Complete Communicator Gold voice modem that responds with:
	* OK			on ATZ
	* 14400			on ATI0
	* 007			on ATI1
	* OK			on AIT2
	* V1.500A-KP39F 	on ATI3
	* FDV14I		on ATI4
	* 022			on ATI5
	* RCV144DPiBA Rev CB	on ATI6

        When I type AT&V after ATZ I get the folowing active profile:

ACTIVE PROFILE:

INSTALLATION
------------

Unzip the zipfile that contains:

INSTALL.CMD
ANSWER.EXE
README.INF
README.TXT
FILE_ID.DIZ
GREETING.MSG

into the directory where you wish ANSWER.EXE and his/her friends to reside.

type: INSTALL, and then create a program object.

For your information, INSTALL.CMD does the folowing:

Create 3 directories named: IN, OUT & SAVED, and moves GREETING.MSG into the
out directory.

It is advisable to install the program on a HPFS drive, because is then will
use long file names to denote incoming messages, instead of cryptic names.

PROGRAM INFO
------------

IMPORTANT
---------
It is required that your modem is in verbal result code format. In other words
when you type an ATZ in a terminal program, the modem should answer with OK
and NOT with 0. If your modem sais 0 on ATZ, refer to your modem's manual to
correct this. The ANSWER.EXE program waits for OK when initializing the modem.

---------

I hate writing documentation, so I will keep it short:

The program works fairly simple, like a real answering machine you have to
turn is ON & OFF. You can listen to incomming messages that appear in the main
window, as well to older messages still stored on your Hard Disk (in the
SAVED directory).

It is possible to select from COM1 to COM4. There is even a test button in the
modem setup dialog that can fairly accurately test if the program can work with
your modem.

You can configure the program so that it turns ON on start up, as well as
minimized or not.

It is required that there is a greeting message that resides on your Hard Disk.
If it is missing you will be told so, and you will need to record a new one.

Play with it, and if you have any questions, you know where to reach me.

Information about the menu items is showed on the bottom of the main window.
When you select a new message use the right mouse button (or middle, my mouse
has only 2) to bring up a popup menu that lets you do stuff with the message.
