                        ONE BBSCON, Number 3

The third occurrence of a very unusual event is about to
take place in Atlanta, Georgia. August 17th marks the opening
of the third annual ONE BBSCON, and you may be interested in
    being there.

The first ONE BBSCON was held in Denver in 1992 with an
attendance of about 1,100. The second was last year in Boulder
with just over 2,000 folks. This year's attendance is expected
to exceed 3,000. As you can see, it is growing by 1,000 people
each year, and no estimate of an "end" has been made. With
the blossoming interest in an "information superhighway", more
and more folks are discovering the advantages to being
"online", and the number will certainly continue to grow.

ONE BBSCON is a three-day gathering of BBS operators and
interested parties from around the country, and is an
unequaled opportunity to meet with a mind-boggling number of
people who share a common interest in computer bulletin
boards. From the smallest single-node startup BBS to the
largest ones in the country, BBSes are the topic, period.

This group will include the writers of BBS software,
shareware producers, BBS owner/operators, and a host of
contributors from related fields. You will have the chance to
attend seminars and meetings with specific topics, group
meetings that address factors common to BBSing, and even chat
one-on-one with any number of folks who are directly
responsible for much of what makes this "hobby" possible.

There will be handouts on dozens of subjects, hardware
and shareware "specials", and some of the newest and best
commercial software will be on display. It is like the
    "Consumer Electronics Show" for BBSing.

BBS owner/operators, SysOps, shareware writers, hardware
manufacturers, and commercial software makers are in
abundance, and as a "user" you stand to learn more in three
days than you are likely to pick up in the next year.

I am comfortable in predicting that you would come away
from the meeting with an entirely new and different view of
your local BBS. It is definitely a terrific opportunity to
explore BBSing like never before, and rest assured, a good
time will be had by all !
