New Events, Music Planned At Silver Dollar City For '94

Each year, Silver Dollar City adds more amusement, and the 1994
   season is no exception.
A tribute to the top 100 country songs of all time will be featured
in a stunning new evening show at Echo Hollow amphitheater. The two-act
comedy, "Country America's Top 100 Hits," will involve the audience in
song medleys and games with plenty of photo opportunities. One production
segment is aimed specifically at children's participation. Musical
selections will run the gamut from western and love songs to gospel and
   classics.
A dazzling new 1000-seat Oprea House will host an original musical
production entiled, "Listen to the River," presented by a skillful cast
of enterainers and musicians. The story is a theatrical approach to
Branson area history as told by the show's narrator, the White River.
Once the river introduces herself, she will take the audience
through changes in time from the arrival of eastern settles to early
booms in logging and small town commerce. The voice of the river
speaks to the audience about the unpredictable nature of change, but
also reminds them that some things remain constant when protected and
nutured. Those things can include family values or the pristine path
of a river snaking through the Ozark hills.
Another '94 addition is Eva and Deliah's bakery, where you can watch
the creation of world-class fruit-filled turnovers, Chocolate Cream Swans,
Dutch Apple Dessert and other temptations. Chef Zader's Cooking and
Baking Classes will be among the bakery's offerings. And there are more
   surprises in store!
Redkneckers returs with a kneeslapping "Shenanigans" revue. The
new International Festival opens the season from April 10-24 with an
appealing array of international foods, performers, costumes and
entertainment. April 16th marks the Grand Opening Celebration with
parades and special shows. A Music Festival from June 10-19 is a 20th
Anniversary tribute and celebration of the history, heroes, food and
music of America. Other festivals and events will be presented through
the close of the season on December 18th.
Storytelling, mesquite barbecue, ongoing musical revues, the splash
of the American Plunge and crafts are all part of the Silver Dollar City
experience. 1994 Season Pass privileges include unlimited visits,
